I hate to do this because I really love cameras and photography and despite this bad experience I still love looking at this place's merchandise. Maybe (hopefully) my experience is a unique one but I feel like I need to share it because the business owner should know how offensive his service has been. I ordered a camera on the 3rd of October (2020). It was around $180 and it was this really cool 3-D Nishika camera; I was excited about it. I got a confirmation on October 5th and haven't received a single update on my order since. On the 15th of October I contacted the business via Instagram messenger to ask where my order was. I know someone is active on it and figured if there was a better way I should contact them that they'd let me know. I'll attach screenshots of this conversation. We went back and forth and he let me know that they probably sold it twice but then took no action to correct the mistake. The business still owes me the money for the camera I bought and never received. He seemed unapologetic and forgetful that I even was a customer. After weeks of not hearing about my refund or receiving any updates at all, I considered buying a different camera from him (like I said, I like his merchandise) and having the transaction transfer over, which he seemed confused by. And even then I had to work to get a semblance of information from him. I asked him how much for a camera he suggested because for some reason he couldn't find the one I was considering on his website, and he said "the going rate". As a woman interested in photography this felt like a truly classic example of photography being this exclusive boys club. He didn't care about my money or my interest or my transaction. Didn't entertain it at all. I don't think he meant to exclude me in this way but that is certainly how it felt. I've worked in many customer service roles throughout my life and trust me when I say I'm sympathetic. I get being busy one week and not being able to get back to me quickly. I get being low on cash and just needing another week to send me the refund. That would be totally fine I just need the communication! As you can clearly see in the messages, I rarely push him. But when it adds up like it did and when I barely received a fraction of an apology, I can without hesitation say this was the worst customer service I've ever received. Read moreI stopped here on my way to visit family in PA. Never knew about this store or much about this area in the town. I knew the store had some camera gems from what was posted online and had to stop by to see if it was true. What I saw online was a fraction of what is actually in store. Chris assisted me and I was blown away by his knowledge on cameras (he knew everything and I'm not exaggerating). He helped me find an odd camera accessory I wanted and showed me how to work it. His friendliness and knowledge on cameras makes it worth stopping by the store. When I drive 2 hours to visit my family from now on, I will have to do a detour to stop by here. I made a comment about how I didn't like the viewfinder in my nikon fe and he recommended the nikon fe2 and ran down the differences between the two from the top of his head. Even if you can't make it in the store, calling in to see if they have something available in stock because they probably will like in my case. I can't recommend this store enough!! This place is a real gem and definitely deserves its praise. I will treasure my camera I got from here for a long time and not just for the camera but for the experience...
Read moreIt’s not often I review businesses online, but it’s not often that I’m completely amazed by a business. I’ve been having a problem with my camera getting sharp images and I was ready to just give up on it, sell it to him, and start over with a different camera. I walked in the door with no appointment, and he dropped everything and helped me out. We had a long conversation about how I shoot, what I shoot, which cameras or lenses would work for me, and how nice the camera is that I was trying to give up on. He then took it in the back and calibrated my lenses, isolated what the problem is (it’s a lens issue, not the camera), and even told me how to get it fixed as a warranty issue. The guy helped me fall back in love with a hobby that had become more stressful than relaxing, and he did it without trying to upsell me or talk me into spending money I didn’t have on things I don’t need.
