Pawn Plus — Local services in York

This is a well staffed, well maintained pawn shop. I'm reading alot of reviews that seem to be expecting WAY too much out of this place. Look people, it's a pawn shop in the middle of a city. I've been to pawn shops all over the place, up here, in Baltimore, wherever, and the ALL low ball you. You never get as much as you think you should from any pawn shop. Yes, some give you a few more bucks than others, and honestly from what I've experienced, this pawn shop actually pays out pretty damn good compared to others.

Being in the middle of a city, these guys deal with wild people trying to sell worthless garbage every single day, that Xbox you wanna sell? They've bought a million of em and they usually have a standard price they pay. Your 100 year old gold necklace? It's probably worth it's weight plus 50 dollars.

You can't come here expecting to get rich, it's made for a quick loan in a tough time, or getting rid of old stuff and getting a quick buck for it. Get real people and remember where you're at.

Anyway I like the place, people are always nice and they've given me more money than I expected on a few things and saved my butt until payday. I'll keep...

Rude and unhelpful

A year ago or so when I was preparing to move and getting rid of stuff, I went here to pawn off some speakers. It was raining outside and when I went inside, the sales person was behind the counter, sitting down. This in and of itself isn't problematic, but he asked where I was parked and told me I had to move my car immediately, and then refused to assist me in bringing in my speakers from my car. I had an umbrella in my hand and there weren't automatic-door opener buttons for their shop. This would've made bringing in the speakers myself problematic. I found his attitude quite abrupt, unhelpful and rude. Not once did he raise himself off of his seat.

Oh and he offered me $5 for my speakers. They could've at least made it $15 if they were going to be rude to me.

I left and didn't...

The staff is extremely unprofessional. I waited over 25 minutes while they talked and gossiped in another language. After presenting them with a GE refrigerator in pristine condition they told me they would not accept it because it doesn't have a metal racking shelf... I used the fridge without it to fit more items. They then had a smaller fridge sitting there for sale for $79 and I offered them mine for $10-$20. They seem extremely racist and only cater to the Hispanic and latino community. DO...
