Art supply stores are so hard to come by! I’ve done the Michaels and Joann’s runs, which worked wonderfully when I was starting my artistic journey, but as I grew my skill set I found that it became difficult to find what I needed. Blicks is a wonderful art supply store, but for me it involves a 30-45 minute drive.

Then I found Ypsi Art Supply Store! My hubs and I were out and about and I suggested checking out this new art supply store that I heard of via Instagram. We only had 10 minutes until close, so I figured I’d just pop in, check out what they had, and come back another time. For a little shop, the owner sure does offer a variety of things - sticker decals, watercolor/acrylic/other mediums, paper, markers, colored and graphite pencils, even local artists’s original artwork! Plus SOOOOO much more! My absolutely favorite part about this shop, and what also makes it UNIQUE, are the products she has from small art business owners - handmade watercolor from various artists, homemade paper, and more! These are supplies I’d have to risk ordering online, but I am able check them out here (I’ve wanted to test out The Art of Soil since I’m super into the environment, and I’ll be able to purchase them from YAS!) Don’t have a budget to purchase a whole palette? There are also some dot cards as well! The owner makes a point to connect with local artists and small art supply businesses to bring their products to her store… I LOVE!

To be able to support a local business with the mission to connect with the community of Ypsi through art is an absolute pleasure. From big name professional paints, to small business handmade products, you can’t go wrong here!

Oh, the owner is a GEM of a human too! I was THAT customer who came within the last 10 mins of closing, and she was kind enough to chat with me about her business, her goals for the future, and connect with me professionally and personally. I will 100% be back, and my birthday and Christmas list now has several items from her online store 😂 Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

Nothing compares to the feeling of the moment of picking up the perfect paint brush and FEELING how it fits into your hand!!! this shop is curated perfectly. i geeked out on finding some specific pens and brushes for the work i was already doing AND some real cute watercolor kits that will help me work my way into an area that i have always a little nervous to try. AND THEY HAVE SO MANY SUPER COOL...

I went here for the first time last weekend and found everything I needed to get started with watercolor. The owner was really helpful with helping me choose the brushes I needed. I appreciate that the store is stocked with products from local/regional artists and suppliers! Besides art supplies, there was a nice selection of cards, stickers, and gifts. Can't wait to return...
