Nurses and charge nurses are mean and nasty, donāt acknowledge new nurses, ignore floor nurses completely during shift, lazy, lack knowledge and most nurses cannot speak English and canāt be understood due to language barriers. Busy taking selfies at nurses station and gossiping about other nurses and talking badly about patients on floor. Hiring managers are out of touch with bedside nursing, lack skills and do bare minimum. Miss Piggy snaggle tooth Lenae the so called manager on med surge 3 is a total and complete lazy slob. Dirty scrubs and nasty dirty crocs that look ridiculous. š¤”Her bun on her head is so tight that it prevents her from smiling or saying hello. It even split her teeth open and now thereās a gap. LOL. But all humor aside, she is just a miserable and unhappy person. She enjoys setting nurses up for failure. Stands around all day watching everyone slave away and just watches or hides in her office. How she keeps her job or got hired in the first place is beyond me. Lazy and incompetent biooottch. Itās clear Advent health hires anyone with a Pulse. Sheās too big like a beached whale to be a floor nurse and race around like the minions who work under her. She spends the day on her phone texting all day and gossips about the nurses. And Joanie DON spends her day asking the patients if they are being treated right then back to her office she goes. This place is a joke. A revolving door for staff. Workload is triple of what you would do in another hospital. Computers on wheels constantly broken, medication scanners constantly broken and you end up getting written up for not scanning barcodes. LOL., Pyxis machines always out of medications. Fingerprint Scanners always faulty. Pharmacy always behind with stocking medications. Ungodly micromanaging, belittling, charge nurses who shouldnāt be charge nurses spying outside of patient rooms listening to nurses interactions with patients, supposed 12 hour days are actually 14 hour days, impossible workload to get completed in 14 hours. Basically you are their slave. Literally. The extra learning modules take hours upon hours. And their mandatory meetings and testing is never ending. You will have to go to meetings on your days off. Itās an atrocious place to work. And they will literally work you to the point of sickness and exhaustion. Donāt be fooled by their religious trickery because this place is nothing more than the devil in disguise. RUN from advent health. And the pay is garbage. Nurses making $35-41 an hour. Taking care of sometimes 12 - -14 patients a day and responsible for admits and discharges. People⦠DO NOT waste your time. This place will eat you alive. And whatever you do⦠DO NOT fall for their sign on bonus. They will come after you and threaten to sue you for sign on bonus amounts that you already worked off and earned. Working at Advent health felt like one big hazing fraternity. Your nursing license is in jeopardy every shift you work. A dangerous and filthy hospital. They expect the nurses to clean massive amounts of blood up in a room as environmental services doesnāt do that. So basically the nurse has to do hazardous blood spill clean up while passing meds and bringing trays of food in patients rooms after cleaning up massive amounts of blood. Yes, you heard that right. So completely nauseating and disgusting. Thatās how messed up this place is. Nothing but greedy sheisters. Advent health Zephyrhills gets an F rating all the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur experience with Advent Hospital was extremely disappointing and raised serious concerns about patient safety and quality of care. One of the most alarming incidents involved my husbandās cardiologist allowing a nuclear stress test to proceed, even though he had critically low vital signs (blood pressure 90/55 and heart rate 45, with documented bradycardia). The assistant warned the cardiologist twice about these dangerously low numbers, yet he insisted on moving forward. Fortunately, and what we can only describe as divine intervention, the machine broke down before the test could begin ā otherwise, the consequences could have been catastrophic. Additionally, my husband was scheduled for a gastrointestinal endoscopy during this same hospital stay. Despite dangerously low blood pressure and heart rate, the procedure was pushed forward without proper reassessment. We were originally told that no biopsies would be taken because he was still on aspirin and Brilinta (blood thinners) ā and that biopsies would only happen in a true emergency. However, during the procedure, several biopsies were taken anyway, including one specifically to test for celiac disease. This directly contradicted what we were told, showing a lack of consistency, communication, and regard for safety protocols. It was only thanks to one incredible nurse ā the true bright spot in our experience ā who advocated on our behalf extensively, that our concerns about his dangerously low vitals were finally acknowledged. Her commitment to patient safety was exceptional, and we are forever grateful for her advocacy and compassion. Itās important to note that all of the low vital signs were caused by medications he had been placed on ā something we repeatedly brought to the doctorsā attention. Yet neither the cardiologist nor the hospitalists truly listened until the nurse stepped in and escalated the issue for us. We left Advent Hospital extremely disappointed, and deeply concerned about the reckless decisions made during my husbandās care. Patients and families deserve better ā they deserve attentive, consistent, and compassionate care, especially after...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband was admitted to AdventHealth Zephyrhills Hospital on July 17th. It was so comforting to have the wonderful staff in the waiting room, so concerned about my comfort level. They also kept me updated about every step of the procedure. It was such a relief and answer to prayers.
After he was taken to his room, the nurses and assistants explained everything they were doing to my husband. It would be easier to say who did not do an exceptional job of caring for my husband during the stay. No one did anything less that give him premiere care during the stay.
I will say - Cinthia, the day nurse in the cardiac unit was absolutely amazing - on top of any issue before we realized there was an issue. Chuck the night nurse in the cardiac unit was an angel. He constantly checked on my husband and offered me pillows, blankets, coffee, and water. Many, many thanks to them both. Zeke and Gary in dietary were superb. I was given a guest tray, and their care and attention made me feel like we were in a very nice restaurant. My husband and I were both thrilled with the delicious food. This was such a delight - LRMC food on other occasions had been inedible. This is so important because proper nutrition is so much a part of the healing process.
Another exception nurse - Yaritza - the night nurse in orthopedics was so caring and concerned about my husband's comfort and safety. Her tips on at home care were invaluable. The same is true of Bev and Thomas from PT. Their dedication to the safety and well-being of Richard was above and beyond what either of us expected. I felt like they gave us a crash course in PT for home care. Can't thank Jessica for all she did to prepare us for the surgery - her pre-procedure instructions were excellent. I feel we really got to know her because of all the surgical rescheduling that was caused by the insurance company.
Again, thank you so much to every person we encountered during the stay. I have had numerous occasions to stay with a patient in other hospitals and AdventHealth Zephyrhills is by far the best hospital I've...
