Let's be honest, you're here for the steak and that is what matters the most. Which definitely lives up to the hype and expectations. I had the tenderloin and it was fantastic. The restaurant is in a "touristy" area and the prices conform. What I wasn't expecting is that there is zero English spoken. Apparently medium rare doesn't have a direct translation into Spanish, or at least it doesn't have one Google translate could relay effectively to the server. Basically you need to practice your Spanish before coming otherwise it makes for a bit of awkwardness. That said, the staff were extremely kind and the Brazilian family next to me had a college aged son who was ready to translate. Overall it was a great experience, the wine was delicious and the sides I wanted were not available (?) But nevertheless the steak is what makes this restaurant stand out. It was by far the busiest in the market and they do not cajole you to sit down like others. That is, the quality speaks for itself. Hope you enjoy it as...

This is a great place for a traditional parrilla near the port in Montevideo. You walk through a hole-in-the-wall looking alley that reveals a bustling collection of restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops. Cabaña Veronica was busy, but our big group was seated after a brief wait. The servers were friendly. We ordered "parrilla for 4" for our group of 5 adults and a child, and it was more than enough for everyone to enjoy some familiar cuts of meat and try new and exciting things. The meal came with two sides. The desserts were delicious, but their homemade flan with dulce de leche was...

Great place, great service, great taste. It is a little pricey as compared with the local restaurants but the portion is good. We ordered the steak which was big, it came with either fries or salad of your choice. We also ordered a tomato dish which we thought was just some salad with lots of tomatoes. To our surprise, it was a tomato only dish with different varieties. They were sweet, fresh and juicy, we’ve never had anything like this before. They also had singers walking around performing with guitars. ...
