Gave me a room without a working AC . When I complained to the reception, at first I was told that I don’t know how to operate the AC and they will send someone form engineering to show me how to use the AC control panel.
The engineering team representative arrived and he himself agreed that there is a problem with the AC.
Furthermore the room I was given had some sort of gunk leaking from the AC vent and a weird smell coming. Furthermore it seemed as if the room itself was still in the process of being renovated.
I went back down to the reception and complained about the full situation and I was told that they are full and won’t be able to change my room as housekeeping leaves by 1700 hours. Mind you that it was 14:30 at that time.
I was promised that the AC problem will be remedied immediately and the next day morning my room would be changed, I went out for my meetings and came back and unfortunately the AC was still not working. I informed the receptionist and they said that it takes 4 or 5 hours for the AC to begin cooling after repair and I have to wait.
Waited all night and nothing changed, next day in the morning I called the reception and they weren’t answering the call, as I had to attend a couple of meetings, I tried to speak to the same receptionist who was present the day before and knew about the details of my complaint. He just looked at me and ignored me, I told him that no one has contacted me to get my room changed. Meanwhile my uber arrived and I left. Even when I came back no one from the reception seemed interested in helping me out.
Next day in the morning upon checking out I encountered the same gentleman again, I asked for the name and contact number and email of the General Manager of the hotel and they declined to provide the requested information to me. Furthermore they asked me to contact the FO manager.
Lastly it was told to me that they couldn’t change my room as the hotel had VIP guests coming in and they didn’t have a suitable and clean room available for me.
I raised a complaint with my agent and the hotel has refused to revert back with a proper justification and apology.
There are better hotels with better services, save yourself embarrassment and headaches
—— Also the worse part is that the hotel management doesn’t care, as you might be able to see based on the same Auto Reply that the hotel director keeps on asking his staff to copy paste for each negative comment. Same text same details - unfortunately if they would take 2 minutes to understand the client’s situation, this would not be a...
Read moreThe front desk staff were exceptional and we’re so kind to offer a very late check out. They scanned some documents for me. But what I find completely unacceptable Is the grosquely obese security guard who was present at check-in. As soon as my wife walked in the door, he started bothering her about how we were parked at the entrance. That’s where everyone parks, worldwide, when you check into a hotel. Latin America is the only place in the world where you have security guards think they own the building and want to give you a hard time for parking, temporarily, where you should be. And it’s important to make your guest feel welcome. If I hadn’t paid ahead of time I would’ve left. My wife is pregnant and this guy could’ve helped with the luggage but only helped with one bag. The car was full of luggage. We checked in about a week ago. I sent a WhatsApp video to reception a few days ago with this complaint and I wouldn’t have mentioned this here in the comments if they had responded. Since they were kind enough to give me a late check out and help with some other things, I can’t give them less than five stars. PS I changed my mind and reduce my rating by two stars down to three stars based on non chalant explanation by the hotels response...
Read moreThe hotel is very dilapidated. At first glance upon entering the lobby the hotel is ok but once you get to your floor you can see the wear. The rooms are horribly designed. The way the toilet and sink are positioned, getting in and out of the shower was a feat. With a slippery floor, it a disaster waiting to happen. The tile had mold and the windows were old and gross. The sheets on the bed didn’t fit and by morning we ended up on the nasty mattress.
Breakfast was free but was disgusting. Every single chair we tried to sit on was stained and gross. The tables were being cleaned with a nasty rag.
Construction was being conducted and there was ridiculously with loud grinding sounds. Whatever they were grinding made the first two floors smell terribly bad. The city was also replacing the sidewalks and streets around the hotel contributing to the unpleasant stay but I can’t blame this on the hotel.
Location was decent and is near the old city. We rented a car but during the week it was hard to get a parking spot. It seemed like people working in the area also parked at the hotel.
My advice is to spend a little more and stay...
