Very Bad experience. They block me from using their bathroom saying it’s for customers only. I said I’m a customer. I was there every night during my stay in Montevideo but on the 3rd night, one of the waitresses drive me away because I’m not making orders after I finished a beer and empanada. I limited my order after a waitress told me bathroom is for customers only. I complained to the manager and you know what the manager told me, “ we are paying for the WiFi “. That moment, I left and didn’t finished my beer. I left the bar disappointed and mad, makes my stay at Montevideo “bad.” Very bad business practice. They should train their waitresses to value their customers. They even ask you how much tip you can give. It’s annoying. It feels like driving customers away. . Not good for tourist. They should value their customers. Bad bar experience in Montevideo. This is the first time I ever write bad reviews. No way to be recommended. I’ll never come back to...
Read moreA Chivito that looked amazing but in fact was not!! Overpriced, the place looks nice and the staff seamed friendly however we ordered a 660ml beer to share only to find out that on a Thursday night at 9pm they had run out already and the waitress came back with two individual cans of 330ml but wanted to charge 70 pesos more for it(2 cans x 240 pesos)1 We didn't order the beers in the end. The Chivito arrived within minutes of ordering, the food was surely reheated when on such a small scale place there is no need to do it blasted in the microwave and put it into a plate. The entrecote did not give justice to the amazing meat that you can find in Uruguay, it was like chewing a shoe sole left under the hot sun for a week...you know the feeling with the foot on a Summer day. I am in the trade and have been for 2 decades and don't like to leave bad reviews but this place really left me with a bitter feeling showing a well built place on the outside but the meat that definitely was not up to standard. 420 pesos for that...no worth it.
Read moreThe food and drink was excellent, especially the pizza and the Limonda, which was slightly fizzy with a hint of ginger I think. The pizza crust was perfect. There’s a dessert called Chiquitorta which was amazing— layers of chocolate cake with peanut icecream between and caramel on top— though it was explained poorly on the menu. We went in the Winter, but it was warm inside the restaurant and there was a standing heater next to our table. The pizza oven is visible over the bar which creates a very cozy atmosphere. When we arrived the place was mostly empty, but it filled up as we ate. The service remained attentive despite this and the waitress was very polite. Overall...
