During our short trip in hcmc, we have gotten our drinks from OKKIO almost everyday, even went back thrice in the same day. Their coconut coffee (cafe dua) is unbeatable, just the right amount of sweetness and coffee taste. The drink is not too heavy also. (5 stars out of 5)
Iced latte with oat milk: Tastes good, not too sour or bitter for the coffee. Oat milk is an additional 20k (4 stars)
Flamingo: one of their experimental drinks. Unfortunately, not my cup of tea (pun intended). The texture was hard to drink, almost like I’m drinking syrup. The flavours didn’t blend well for me, it’s the opposite of a refreshing drink. (1/5)
Lychee Kombucha: it’s quite vinegar-y, i can feel it sting my throat a little. Taste wise is alright. (3 stars)
Summer Brezze: This is a cold brew tea that tastes like a peach tea. Can’t taste the kamquat though. Still refreshing but nothing special. (3.5 stars)
Cafe was pretty chill and empty at 9pm, but really crowded at 2pm on the weekends. Staff super friendly and welcoming.
Delivery: I appreciate that they are super flexible. There is no option to use oat milk instead but they did so any way based on the note i left, I just had to pay the grab driver the...
Read moreI came back the next day after I was introduced to this place by a cafe owner himself - that's how good this place is. Their menu is extensive enough for any coffee fan, but curated enough to make sure it's all good. I had the chance to try the coconut coffee and their affogado on the first day. Both were great. The coconut coffee is more lightly fragrant than most I've had and the affogado features a very special-flavoured ice-cream that I've not seen anywhere else. It goes amazing with the intense coffee and is truly one of those made-in-heaven kind of things. On the second day I had their single-origin Columbian beans through a filter and it was really delicious. Other than the coffee, the space is gorgeously drenched in sunlight and style, and one can easily while away a book or some work on the laptop with an afternoon here. Not to mention, the baristas are all very friendly and easy to chat with, and they love folks who oblige them their fever for specialty coffee. Certainly my favourite spot if I were...
Read moreA fantastic coffee shop snugly tucked away on an upper floor of an otherwise unassuming building facefront towards the everbustling roar of Le Loi's streets in the busy heart of Ho Chi Minh City. I find quiet mornings here, with pour-over coffee from Okkio's vibrant selection of beans, to be a rocksolid way to start any day. The space itself accentuates this feeling, what with its rustic, quaint aesthetics, housing seats cosily yet aplenty, whilst a playlist of classics constantly accompanies one's time here. The staff are easygoing yet without losing a professional touch, whom are an easy chat and perfectly amiable. Exactly what I'd want from a coffee spot of its size and nature, hence the deserved fives on all fronts. Chanced upon the opportunity, I'd stop by any day. And given that opportunity—a memento (...mori) to remind myself—treat yourself to a straight cup of Wush Wush if and when it's on the menu, because my goodness is that some...
