Not often do I find service so lacking I don’t tip. This is one of those places. I was brought the opposite soup of the one I asked for. They knew it, telling me they accidentally cooked the wrong one and tried to serve it to me anyway. I refused and they took it back, no apology of course for THEIR mistake, but I shrugged and simply waited for the correct one. Mistakes happen, fine. Once the correct soup (pumpkin and ginger) finally came out to be fair it was delicious.
But after I was served my entree, I sat there for over 30 minutes after I had finished and no one checked on me to see if I liked the food or see whether I wanted to order anything else. There were literally like 4 tables including mine booked in the restaurant and they couldn’t even think to glance my way to see if I needed something or was ready to go. Another table for four across from me was seated right when I was finishing my entree and they had FINISHED their meal while I was still patiently waiting for staff to come over to attend to me. Unacceptable.
Eventually I got tired of waiting and had to go to them. I told them I was waiting for over 30 min for the check, neither of the two servers apologized, one just pulled out the card machine to take my money. I paid the exact amount and left. They definitely did NOT earn a tip thus I didn’t leave one. A simple “I’m sorry for your wait” would have gone a long way here but I didn’t receive that, just guilty silence from both men at the counter.
Definitely best to take your business elsewhere. Servers are quite inattentive here, and are completely unapologetic for their lack of service towards you even in a practically...
Read moreHad dinner here in September 2024. The review is based on two dishes: Greek salad and Chicken breast with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes with french fries (unusual combination of both: steak french fries on the bed of mashed potatos). Greek salad was my favorite- very fresh, cucumbers are crunchy, olives are tasty. I hoped for a little more feta cheese cubes, but it was still delicious. Main course of chicken is also good. Mushroom sauce is creamy, with pieces of sliced mushrooms. Chicken cutlet itself was a tiny bit tough; similar dish in Germany or Czech Republic usually has a chicken more tender and juicier. I enjoyed the food, nevertheless. Service is attentive. By the way, the bill includes 15% service charge that is not mentioned beforehand. They list the cost of ordered food and then PLUS another number, from what I understood. The restaurant offers red or white wine, without giving the name of the wine itself- so it vino de casa. It is an acceptable, mild flavor white wine that I enjoyed with my dinner. The decor is lovely, restaurant is on the second floor. Large tables, spacious interior. For some reason, I did not see any locals dining- all were tourists, like myself. My theory is that we all read and rely on the reviews and the name is English: Fresh garden, and we are all suckers for the names of the restaurants like this one. Locals do not write reviews on their favorite restaurants because they don’t want to share their personal...
Read moreOur visit to this restaurant was disappointing, despite a few positives. The place is nicely decorated, and the food initially seemed well-prepared and flavorful. However, the service left much to be desired. There were two waiters working that night—one was friendly and attentive, but the one who served us was rude and unpleasant, with an unacceptable attitude. To make matters worse, he tried to charge us a 6€ fee for paying by card, something we hadn’t encountered anywhere else in Albania. This made us feel as though he was trying to take advantage of us as foreigners.
We ordered a vegetarian dish that, after asking, we were told could be made vegan (that was nice). Unfortunately, we believe this dish caused a severe case of food poisoning, which ruined the rest of our trip with some days of fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Only two people in our group shared this dish, and both of them got sick, strongly suggesting the issue was with the food at this restaurant, not any previous meals we had elsewhere. It was one of these dishes: the Coliflower Steal or the Hummus & Falafel
Given these issues, we recommend avoiding this place until they improve both their customer service and kitchen hygiene/traceability. Other reviews have also mentioned similar problems with poor service and food poisoning, so it seems these issues are...
