This place was the absolutely best restaurant in my two weeks trips around Albania.
What a wonderful experience, both in terms of food and also the service and atmosphere. From the moment you walk in you’re obviously not a second in doubt that this place is out of the ordinary. The decoration is crazy, and I can’t even describe it. It’s just one giant mismatch of artifacts of all different kinds, even the toilet is crazy. There is simply so many details here that I am sure the waiters themselves find something new whenever they’re here. I love the touch of the giant TV’s in the restaurant too, and I our case it was playing kids movies 😂
The young waiters are laid back and professional, and make sure they take good care of you. Also service is incredibly fast, both in terms of drinks and food. They had a really nice beer card that I would like to recommend too.
Anyways now to the food. I started with soup of the day, and unfortunately I cannot remember what was in it but it was lovely. Light broth with plenty of flavor, perfect light start. Then we were served five different types of dips alongside some crispy potato chips and bread. The crispy potato’s were indeed crispy, but man the dips were amazing too. We really regret that we didn’t order more. I almost got full only in dips and bread.
Then I had the tomato eggplant starter which was really nice. It was served cold, I’ve had that before in Turkey and although I don’t mind it cold I prefer such dishes warm to be honest. But still very nice and flavorful. Alongside that, I had the 500g of lamb ribs. Really good too and nicely seasoned, they were a bit “meatless” but that was okay, I was pretty full by now anyways. However nice flavor all around on those.
Really great experience, big...
Read moreThis is a must-try spot in Tirana. I wish I could be friends with the owner of this place. I'm sure they're very cool people!
We heard about this place from a family who traveled with us from Ohrid. They said they had good food, a great atmosphere, and reasonable prices, and they were right!
First of all, the interior is wow, really cool and unique. I've seen so many cool places back home in the US, so I wasn't surprised a lot, but I was surprised to see it in Tirana!
They also have great music, reggae played all the time during our stay, which we enjoyed.
We ordered a Greek salad, suxhuk, qofte, tave dheu, grilled peppers with cheese, and some drinks. Tave dheu (baked meat with cheese) is a must-try, in my opinion. I've never had anything like it. It tasted like a queso con carne but better! Qofte, aka meatballs, are a must-order as well. Being Turkish, I've eaten better meatballs, but I definitely enjoyed their version too, as they use unique spices, different from what we use back in Turkey.
Our server was very nice too. (Guy with glasses) He helped us place our order and made sure we enjoyed our meals. He even said goodbye to us in our own language, which made us smile.
Overall, I definitely recommend this place. If you must try one restaurant in Tirana, this...
Read moreI found this place on Wanderlog in search of local beer, and it did not disappoint. I was immediately welcomed and hardly got in the door before a cute Albanian waiter was opening it for me, like they do for everyone. I was greeted by the bartender and multiple staff with warm enthusiasm, as I greeted them cheerfully in one of the few Albanian words I know. The first thing I noticed, besides the wonderful people, is the impressive bottle beer selection. The cute waiter helped me pick something based on my description of what I like, and it was perfect! Then, because I wanted to have a snack and try lots of traditional specialties, he offered to go through the menu with me and built a custom plate for me. The beans are the best I've ever had--don't know what that sauce is, but I have to figure out how to duplicate it. Best fried cheese ever (don't tell Greece). The whole place has such a happy, friendly vibe. This would be my neighborhood bar if I lived here, which of course the staff invited me to do. ❤️ Come for the beer, try all the food, stay for the people (and...
