A Royal Feast at Alibaba Indian Restaurant: A 5-Star Experience in Pattaya!
Stepping into Alibaba Indian Restaurant in Pattaya is like being transported to a regal dining hall in India itself. From the moment you ascend the beautifully decorated staircase to the second floor, you know you're in for something special. This isn't just a meal; it's an authentic culinary journey that truly deserves every one of its five stars. Ambiance & Service (5/5): The restaurant boasts a captivating ambiance, adorned with traditional Indian decor that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The soft lighting, ethnic Indian music, and attentive staff in their traditional attire complete the immersive experience. The service is impeccable – friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to offer recommendations or explain dishes. They genuinely make you feel like a valued guest. Food (5/5): Alibaba truly excels in delivering authentic North Indian and Mughlai cuisine. Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece of flavor, perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. The Butter Chicken was incredibly rich and creamy, with tender pieces of chicken that melted in the mouth. A true classic, executed flawlessly. The Garlic Naan was light, fluffy, and generously flavored with garlic, serving as the perfect accompaniment to soak up every drop of the delicious curries. We also indulged in the Hyderabadi Lamb Biryani, and it was divine. The basmati rice was aromatic and perfectly cooked, layered with succulent lamb and fragrant spices – a true taste of India. The Onion Bhaji starters were crispy and flavorful, a fantastic way to begin our meal. Even the Chai (Indian tea) was brewed to perfection, a comforting end to a magnificent meal. What sets Alibaba apart is their commitment to traditional cooking methods, especially evident in their tandoor items. You can taste the authenticity and passion in every bite. Value (4/5): While the prices are on the higher side for Thailand, the quality of the ingredients, the generous portion sizes, the exceptional service, and the overall dining experience more than justify the cost. This is a fine dining experience, and you get what you pay for – an unforgettable Indian feast. Overall Recommendation: If you're in Pattaya and craving genuine, high-quality Indian food, Alibaba Indian Restaurant is an absolute must-visit. It's widely considered one of the best, and for good reason. Whether you're a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or looking to experience it for the first time, Alibaba will not disappoint. Prepare to be delighted by the rich flavors, the welcoming atmosphere, and the truly memorable dining experience. Don't leave Pattaya without experiencing the...
Read moreI was contemplating this review for some time as to give it a 2, 3 or 4 star. Is the food good? Yes it is. Actually, it is very good. Now, most Indian restaurants are good in Pattaya and comparing this restaurant with for example Saras which I visited a week earlier, I'm surprised to the pricing. A vegetarian mixed menu at Saras is 390Baht. At Alibaba it is 690B. The menu is slightly bigger at Alibaba and more complex but far from 300B more. The reason I give this restaurant only 2 stars, while the food is good, is becuse they are at least 40-50% more expensive than comparable food at Saras while still being in a cheaper location. And price matters a lot. Is Pizza Company popular? Yes. Would it be popular if price increased 40-50%? No, it wouldn't. On top of the prices, everything is almost 20% more expensive because they add hidden tax and service charges not included in the menu. And yes, the intelligent mind asks you - why would an honest restaurant not just put the real price on the menu in the first place? Yes, MANY restaurants do this, but it doesn't make it more right.
The bottom line is - if price is not an issue - it will not disappoint. For budget-minded people take a look at Saras or numerous other Indian restaurants with equally good food for a lower price AND full price already included...
