This restaurant was mediocre for the price. The wait staff was excellent, and very attentive/helpful! The cheese appetizer was also good. The green salad with goat cheese was no good. It had so much vinegar, it actually burned your palette and my spouse was unable to eat it. I know it was strong because I lack the taste buds for vinegar so if I can taste it, I know it’s super strong for the average person. Most disappointing was the entrees. My spouse had the prawns, and they were mushy and tasted odd. I had the steak and for 38$ I don’t know what kind of meat it was, but it was not good. It was chewy and somewhat cold. The fried potatoes were the only saving grace, as they were cooked perfectly. All in all, for 160$ (and only 35$ of that was spent on a mediocre bottle of Malbec), this restaurant was overpriced. We recently ate at Roux and for almost the same price, actually less as the wine we got was 90$ a bottle, we got water, two appetizers, steak dinners, and two desserts, and the food was phenomenal, it puts this place to shame. I probably should have said something but I had just finished working all day and it was late, so all I wanted to do was eat...
Read moreSan Telmo is, without question, one of the most characteristic neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, so it’s no surprise that many of the city’s best restaurants are located here. Sagardi Restaurant, with its focus on Basque cuisine, is one of the finest examples. A spacious venue featuring an impressive bar, a visible dry-aged meat display, a wine cellar, and an open kitchen, it offers an excellent and well-curated menu with standout dishes that set it apart from many others.
The customer service is outstanding, the presentation and flavor of the food are superb, and what I especially appreciated is that even when the restaurant is full, the ambiance remains relaxed. They also have a lovely patio that’s perfect for a pre-dinner drink, as I enjoyed myself. In town, they also operate a charming hostería with beautifully styled apartments that transport you to the good old days.
I was very happy with everything I tried, but if there’s one dish you shouldn’t miss, it’s the Langostinos de Chubut. Simply...
Read moreI’ve just happened to have one of my worst restaurant experiences ever The red tuna was about 100 grams for about 30 dollars and it was nothing from amazing I can tell if you serve a portion like this big to a real basque, they’ll stand up and leave without exchanging a word Regarding taste, you can find frozen tuna In the market with at least same taste Even so I was the only one at the restaurant area, the didn’t take care of me ... service sucks I kept waiting for someone to approach me and ask me if I wanted something else ... which I really want it: I was STARVING Finally I stood up, went to the register, pay and leave and no one cares about how was my experience I even had the impression that the OBE who was supposed to take care of the ONLY OBE customer at the area was trying to let me know that tips are not allowed with credit cards ... WHAT? IT SUCKS!, this is why I want it to share it with you While writing this I’m still...
