This restaurant is well worth the 10 minute walk out of town and is a welcome break from the tourist traps on the High Street.
It only opened at the end of 2018 so I don't think many people know about it yet and so is a real hidden gem! The decor inside is really warm and cozy with some cool old fashioned features.
The staff are so friendly and make you feel extremely welcome as soon as you step in the door. It feels really genuine too, nothing like back in the UK! Matias was really nice and insisted on giving us his number in case we needed any help with anything whilst staying in the town. He even offered to open the restaurant up early to give us somewhere to rest before heading to the airport for our flight!
The food is absolutely amazing! So much so we came back every night for the rest of our stay. The steak and lamb are some of the best I've ever tried! The fish was also delicious! And there were a few very decent veggie options too. I get the impression if you had any dietary requirements they would likely put something together for you if it wasn't already on the menu. All main courses were around £10 or less and you could get a great glass of house red for about £2. The bread, of which there seemed to be an endless supply, was freshly baked, warm and delicious!

Read moreA nice place to have dinner in El Calafate. A nice restaurant with a cozy vibe! The staff is extremely nice and wonderfuI! The music was great as well as we only listened to certified bangers. You know the music is good if the staff and your girlfriend are subconsciously singing along with it. The artisanal beer from Macá was very very tasty, definitely recommend it you enjoy a light blond beer!
I've seen a lot of very positive reviews and I get it, but the food was oke to me. The lamb empanada was very nice, a good way to start. The bondiola with lemon sauce, apple and puree was very good and unique! I haven't had that combination before but somehow it worked well. The lamb roulade on the other felt a little flat. The dish was a bit cold(not sure if that was the purpose), the meat was a bit dry and there was just not a lot of taste to it. Nevertheless it was a nice experience and I enjoyed it a lot.
It's a little bit of an uphill walk from the city centre but it's...
Read moreThis place is, in my opinion, overrated. The decor and ambiance are fantastic, and the service is excellent—friendly and very helpful when taking orders. The appetizers and sides were also top-notch. However, I was disappointed with the steak. I ordered medium rare, but what I received was inconsistent: one half was medium well, while the other half was rare. I didn’t mention this to the staff because I’m a traveler and tend to be understanding while on the road.
Unfortunately, no one asked why I left about a third of my steak unfinished. Had they asked, I would have explained that I wasn’t satisfied. The end of the steak tasted bitter and made me question its freshness.
It’s a shame because, if not for the steak, I would have given this place a perfect 5.0 rating. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, but this visit has convinced me that Argentine steaks might not be the best after all. I know plenty of places in Europe with much...
