Disappointing Service Despite Charming Atmosphere
⭐️⭐️
Nina Grill & Beer in El Calafate boasts a charming decor located on the main street, setting a promising first impression. However, our dining experience was marred by extremely poor service. We seated ourselves, fetched the menu, and struggled to attract the staff's attention, who seemed more engrossed in their own conversations than attending to customers.
Observing other neglected tables, it became evident that service was a widespread issue. Our order of trout, guanaco stew, and ribeye steak, along with fries as a side, faced delays. Regrettably, the fries arrived only after my wife had finished her steak, prompting us to inquire about their whereabouts.
While the food itself was well-presented and flavorful, the portions were smaller, and prices higher compared to similar establishments in El Calafate. The potential of Nina Grill & Beer is overshadowed by the urgent need for improved customer service training among the staff. Despite the appealing aesthetics, the overall experience fell short of...
Read moreNina's is a really cool looking restaurant in Calafate that is always busy, so my husband and I decided to give it a shot. I ordered the one person tomahawk steak, which was the special for the evening - big mistake. As soon as we were served, I detected the smell of meat that was on the verge of going bad. I put the thought behind me and began to eat, but then realized my nose was correct after the first bite of steak. Neither my husband nor I are very knowledgeable in spanish, and with the language barrier, we just decided to pay and leave. I took the steak with me to feed a dog living near our airbnb. When my husband took the meat out of the takeaway bag, he confirmed that after just a short 20-minute drive, the steak smelled even more terrible. I would not recommend ordering the special at this restaurant as it may be that they are trying to sell off extra product before it...

I hate being the person to pester for more bread and dip but it was so delicious that we couldnt help ourselves. And while he brought the second round of bread, he cleaned off the crumbs on our table from the first round. Not usually something that bothers me (the crumbs), however, it was a detail that elevated the experience. I ordered trout and my partner ordered lamb. Both we absolutely delicious as well as the Pisco Sour I'd ordered. The timing, detail, and taste in the dishes was highly satisfactory and the service was great. Just a bit dark in the restaurant for my liking (personally), but it fit in with the motorcycles and atmosphere. I...
