If you only eat out once in El Chalten, eat here. For us we mostly ate where ever was open earliest for dinner as we woke up for multiple sunrise hikes. If you can manage wait till 7pm and eat here at least 1 night..if not every night! Yes its that good. The spread that comes with the bread is so good I was scraping out the bowl, so they brought us more. We ordered the chicken empanada to start us off and it was everything the reviews promised...just perfect. For our main dishes my husband ordered the lamb stew which was SO delicious. I ordered the Tagliatelle pasta which comes with a choice of 5 different sauces. I choice the pink. It was so good I wish I good go back and try all 5! Because everything else was so tasty we couldn't not get dessert. We ordered 1 of each of the two choices..a caramel flan that will leave you wanting more and the most insanely delicious chocolate lava cake I have ever had. Not to mention the multiple glasses of malbec wine that paired perfectly with everything. "Ponza llena...
Read moreThis place was exactly what we were looking for after a long hike! The food tasted homemade and it was super cozy and hearty. The service was incredible, the two ladies working there were so sweet and friendly despite how busy they were. We got an empanada de carne and onion soup to start, the lamb and mushroom stew & lentil stew. The empanada was divine! Super flavorful. The onion soup was sweet which wasn’t our taste but it was well made nonetheless. The stews were out of this world! The flavors were so incredible. If you only try one, try the lamb stew but try both if you can! The lentil stew is even better the next day. The place only has around 6 tables so be sure to go in the day before and make a reservation, and expect to wait a bit even with a reservation- but rest assured, it’s worth the wait! And if you want your food quickly then they have hot, delicious empanadas to go. Try this place if you can! We would have had it every day we were at Chalten if...

I only realized this was wrong the second I went and ordered the same thing and paid the prices as written on the menu. 2nd time: the food was just okay. The dish was full of very fatty parts that weren't eatable. That made the experience not that great at all.
Overall, that's disappointing for a 4.9 rated restaurant on Google.
Haven't tried the empanadas, which...
