Dulces Pau — Restaurant in Ushuaia

This little cafe was a great find during our stay in Ushuaia. Just disappointed I didn't discover it sooner! Right around the corner from out lodging, offering great coffees, pastries, and sandwiches. Even dashed in there for a quick dinner when the weather wasn't cooperating to allow us to walk into the main part of town. Ordered the pumpkin soup and pumpkin torte. Both excellent. Great vibe, good selection of music. The owner is super friendly; all the items for sale are made there, except for the croissants. This is one off the Main Street but very worth the trip. This is quaint and very relaxing. Tried several restaurants and bakeries during the visit. This was by far the best. The sandwich was enough for two people, the sandwich bread just melted in your mouth. The scrambled eggs and ham were delicious. If my Spanish were better I would write all the glowing words which were used to describe them. If there were any suggestions to be made it would be to add nuts to the carrot...

Lo prometido, es deuda! Un frío y ventoso día de enero 2024 me acerqué al local de Dulces Pau. Soy pastelera y repostera y me habían llegado hermosos comentarios sobre Dulces Pau. Buscaba una tarta con frutos rojos. No tuve suerte porque se había agotado, pero, afortunadamente, me ofrecieron la tarta de manzana para reemplazarla. Quiero decir sin temor a equivocarme que está en el top 3 de las mejores tartas de manzana que comí en mi vida (y he comido muchas, jeje). La masa tenía la perfecta textura, cocción pareja y se deshacía en la boca. La compota del relleno, deliciosa y en el punto justo para distinguir la manzana y sea amable en el paladar. El crumble de la cubierta era uniforme, sin fisuras, de cocción pareja y con el balance justo de ingredientes. La apariencia y el sabor combinaron y no me defraudaron.
