We ate here twice on our recent trip to Ushuaia. The first visit wasn’t very impressive. The second was downright bad.
The first day we had croque madams. Overall, they were quite good - even though the eggs were overcooked and had almost no yolk. They could use a sauce or something if they can’t figure out how to cook the eggs properly.
The second day, we ordered the Tanta Sara. The pastries and orange juice were excellent. Our eggs were cold. The sandwich was lifeless.
The second day, it took forty minutes just to take our order and an hour before we were served coffee. They served our food without cutlery and plates and promptly flitted away before we could ask. We had to get up and ask the counter for them, and we never did get plates (forcing us to use our coffee saucers).
It’s a great atmosphere, if you can get past the fact that everyone else is also desperately trying to get the staff’s attention. Also, for some reason, they kept opening the door despite the cold and the cigarette smoke both coming in from outside.
Both visits, no one followed up with us after delivering the food, and it was like pulling teeth just to get the check.
In sum: not worth the price, effort, and pain. Also, after writing this we noticed that they copy/paste the same reply to every unfavorable review. That alone...

The first day, we both had a croque madame based on reviews. It was fine, not great, not bad. The cappuccino was good. The service? Terrible.
Day two, we had the Tante Sara breakfast. Our server told us it was a lot of food, which we knew, and that was that. After waiting half an hour with no beverages or food, another server “took our order” and then we waited again for nearly another half an hour before anything arrived. When our coffees arrived, they did not ask if we wanted milk, so we went without. Finally, they brought out the food with no silverware or plates. We had to go to the counter to ask for them, and still only received the silverware. No plates. We made do. The eggs were also overcooked and cold.
Both days, it took way too long to get the check when we asked for it.
The worst part was seeing others in the restaurant waiting for help as well and not receiving it. I silently wished them luck on our way out the door.
We tried to give the manager feedback after we paid, but he very obviously didn’t care.
Do yourself a favor and do NOT waste your money here. This place is definitely not worth it. There are several better...
