This is a review of just the whole centolla (crab), not the buffet.
We were expecting better given the reviews about amazing steamed crab cooked with Chinese flavors, but all that was offered was plain cooked crab, which you don't get to select yourself, and the rest of the experience was disappointing.
The whole crab in late Jan 2024 cost 85,000 ARS and it was cooked and brought whole to the table. Other than a couple of pairs of scissors, nothing else comes with it.
We thought maybe some rice or noodles might come with it but they said it was extra. We went ahead and ordered some stir fried noodles and they just filled a plate of the stir fried noodles from their buffet bar and charged us 11,000 ARS for it (for comparison, the all-you-can-eat buffet bar + bbq meats cost 22,000 ARS).
The crab was good, but really expensive (especially when I found out that the "famous expensive place" around the corner only charges 45-50,000 ARS for a 2-person shared crab and rice and salad comes with their meal). And while it wasn't small, it also wasn't a very filling lunch, even with the noodles.
All in all, it was disappointing and unless you want oily or fried Chinese food with bbq (which the reviews seem to indicate is good but, the guy sitting next to us had a whole plate bbq meats and he ate about 3 bites and left the rest...), I wouldn't...
Read moreMy wife and I had dinner here on 2025.03.24. There was a buffet service which was very popular with both Asian and non-Asians. Also, there was an asador serving traditional Argentine parilla fare. However, as we were pinning for some Asian cuisine and choose to order a la carte. We wanted to have a centolla but the lady proprietress said it was not in season and recommended a king crab, also from the Ushuaia area. In addition, we asked her to recommend a Chinese dish that was authentic and she recommended stir-fried vegetables with scallop. And we added fried rice. The king crab was fresh and sweet. Note that it was fished out of the tank at the front of the restaurant and presented to us, along with its weight and cost, which is the proper way to avoid sticker shock and consequent misunderstanding. The vegetables and scallops was world class, even compared to Asian local standards, and the plate was so clean when we finished. And the fried rice was competent, though lack the taste of a fired wok. Pricing, though not cheap because of the king crab, was very reasonable. If we should return to Ushuaia some day, we would definitely...
Read moreThe buffet is a normal Chinese / empanadas buffet, nothing special and tasty. the meet is good, but, at the end, my mother goes to pay, she had to ASK for have a receipt. The owner was taking the money like in "black". And then, the lady (I guess the wife), she ran behind us because she forgot to put A BOTTLE OF WATER in the bill, talking like we were stealing her money. Of course I paid it, and no receipt again. I work in a restaurant too, and this is not how to act with YOUR guests!! This restaurant works good just for the price, even if for the bottle of water i had to give 600 pesos. but spend the same or a bit more, you will have much more quality in food and...
