Boca Chica Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Adelaide

i was there Friday night with my partners mother and it was so disappointing. I called and made a booking on Tuesday and i got the date wrong so i called and cancelled my Tuesday booking and made one for the friday. The guy i talked to didn't cancel by booking on Tuesday. friday booking i asked for a table near the window as my partners mother has been wanting to go there for 2 years but we were seated they sat us in the corner not what the guy said we were sitting. When we got there oliva sat us down and gave us menus but when we asked about the menu she didn't know much about the menu or the pasta. I got the fettuccine and is wasn't cooked properly as some of the pasta was stuck together and hard, i only ate half. It took alot to get our waitresses notice to get more drinks and spoons. I didn't want to embarrass my partners mother so i didn't say anything while i was there or i would have straight away. Fabulous food and service. Boca Chica is more than a "bar", it has restaurant quality food whilst maintaining a casual atmosphere. Primarily a tapas bar, Boca Chica also offers a limited main menu of steaks and paella. The tapas experience in Australia can vary quite a bit but this is high end tapas - quality ingredients treated with respect. There are also platters for nibbles over drinks and banquet options as well as mid week specials. Dessert is also on offer and the dishes we tried were sublime (and good value when compared to restaurants in the city). The wait staff are great and very knowledgeable about the food and ingredients. Boca Chica is housed in an old building so there are various rooms set up with tables catering for couples to groups with a lovely alfresco area at the front. The walls are decorated with an eclectic mix of photographs from Spain and vintage mirrors and there's a wall of old record covers as well. My Fiancé and myself came here to celebrate my birthday. Our waitress (Ali?) Was extremely helpful, had a great sense of humor and went out of her way to make our night one of the most spectacular. We eat out a good amount but have yet to find service that is as incredible as this! Ali, you are a credit to the business and to yourself, thank you so much for making such a great inpact on our night. To top it off, the food was absolutely incredible, the lamb rack was tender and had plenty of flavor, the gnocchi that my fiancé had was incredible also, very light and full of flavor. Our Entree was gorgeous, the Oven Baked Brie was delicious and something that We had not tried before.
