Paradiso Cafe and Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Adelaide

Expected much more from Michael Sferas! Where do I start...prior to entering, we were greeted with a sign on the Cafe window stating 'Cashless'; we could deal with this, but what about some of the Older Australians who only have cash at hand? Upon entering on a cold day, the Cafe was cold due to no heating. Post ordering, the girl behind the Service counter was reminded of our drinks ordered 20 minutes prior. The food ordered: Fettucine with Salmone and Gamberi was bland, even after asking for chilli and parmeson, with no evidence of the Rose wine sauce. And one of the bowls this Pasta dish was served in had a good sized crack - OH&S issue! The Greek Plate had a small amount of Grilled chicken and NO Olives in the Greek Salad (a Greek salad is not a Greek salad without Olives!). Again, we had to request for Pepper. We were about to order coffee with dessert, to be informed the Cafe was out of Churros. The staff were too Casual in their Customer Service, and half way into the Cafe's Lunch hours, were already setting up for a 60th Birthday function that evening; how rude, making one feel that they are inconveniencing and being pushed out of the Cafe. My sister and I had a late/after hours check-in at the hotel attached to the Cafe. There was a little bit of confusion on our part, regarding the hotels after hours check-in process. It was a ridiculously hotel day, we were tired, hungry and confused. To our dismay, we discovered the Cafe was closing up for the evening, so weren't really taking customers. The staff members on duty at the Cafe, went above and beyond to help us though. Even though the kitchen was closed, the young lady on duty (Mikayla) managed to get us some food, seats and even sorted out our security pass card for the hotel. These two tired older ladies, are extremely grateful to the bubbly young lady (Mikayla), and the Cafe cook, for taking charge and helping us out so efficiently. This cafe has the potential to be so great, as the food and wait staff are lovely. However, I would not recommend hosting an event here, as management lack communication and customer service skills. It has been well over 2 months since I expressed the issues that occured at my son's 1st birthday (not sending an itinerary like their contract states, meals being distributed over an hour later then what they said, and not organising enough staff members to cater for the event, plus more). An apology would've been nice at the very least, but we didn't even get that. Such a shame as we usually enjoy dining there, but this experience has definitely lost us and our guests...
