An old restaurant in a new incarnation. I have dined here over various phases and decades of Fortuna history and now, with its new name of Hsin Fortuna, I find it has reached an apex of excellence. I'm now popping in regularly. It has a new, serene elegance and a calm atmosphere. Service is prompt and engaging. Wine comes in two sizes which I love. The food is not rushed onto the table before one has savoured the wine as in some Asian restaurants but thoughtfully timed. I don't know when I have ever had a better whole flounder, aromatic, salty, crispy skinned, delicate and oh, so fresh in flesh - and boned for us at the table. Duck and green beans is a joy of complementary tastes and textures. I recommend it highly. It is s new favourite. Sizzling scallops and vegetables, again, delicate, perfectly cooked scallops. Shanghai Prawns, also. I love braised beansprouts and they come off-menu at my request and to my taste. Out of curiosity , we tried the water spinach the other night but, despite glorious flavours, it is one of those stalky, chewy Asian greens I won't make a regular thing . Shan Dong chicken , on the other hand, is to be...

Fortuna used to be one of my favourite places for Peking roast duck. 2 courses made from a whole duck. Tonight (9th April 2024) I ordered my usual, and the waitress started slicing the duck at the table. All she did was slice the Skin off the duck and left 90% of my meat on the frame of the duck, I'm thinking ok my next course would have alot more duck. She took my duck back to the kitchen and 30 seconds later walked back with my second course of noodles.. there was a few small pieces of duck, bit it was so obvious that they had already made it before my duck had returned to the kitchen. So I paid about $70 for a whole duck and I didn't even get 1/4 worth of duck meat. They must think we are all stupid. I felt like I had been ripped off and it was do dissapointing, because I brought some people to try this place out and had hyped it up bigtime.. Hsin a word of advice, it's not very nice lying to your customers and not giving them what they paid for. You should let customers enjoy their meal and if the pay for something give it to them instead of being so cheap and sneaky. Waste of...

Absolutely disgusted!! We last were there 1and1/2 year's ago inside the restaurant and thought wow not good questioned if we would risk going back! As regulars over the years there standards slowly dropping to the point were why do we bother. Tonight ordered take away over the phone as online never worked?? Restaurant empty picked up went home to find broken container? On the crispy beef this was with peking sauce so we got a soup spoon of sauce ?? On a good serve like WTF right and worse the beef was speaky white and dry never had that there like this. The sweet and sour pork was old and tripple cooked to the point as crunchy ??? Should not be like this obviously nothing was fresh so no thats it never ever going back feel like we just burt $102 on dinner better off a meal at Hungry Jacks not joking !! If your prepared to serve this crab shut shop honestly Disgraceful!! Rang and got exscuses to be offered 1/2 price...

OMG this place is fantastic! The food & service are really good. My friends & I went there for our Xmas lunch. What surprised me that it wasn't packed, with the menu they have it should be. We shared the entire meal. We had the following entree: vietnamese seafood rolls & ebisu potato prawn. For mains: crispy beef peking sauce, double cooked pork belly, dry peppercorn chicken & steamed rice for 3. The dry peppercorn chicken I admit I wasn't expecting to be my level of hot, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it as my friends aren't into that level of heat. But I loved it! So many places have spicy... but aren't, here you won't be disapointed, & the chicken was tender as was the pork. All of the meal was fantastic, highly recommend eating here at lunch time, to avoid the crowd. If I could I'd give it more stars, it's definitely in my top 10 Asian restaraunts.

The decor was abit odd for a asian restaurant, abit of a industrial warehouse sought of feel with brick wallpaper which probably looks a little cheap and nasty to be quite honest as it does look quite obvious. Service was a little average as the staff had pretty poor english skills so trying to order was abit of a mission and they also seemed abit inexperienced in waitressing as well. My girlfriend had the peppercorn chicken which was a little disappointing as it was just a plate of deep fried chicken and peppercorns dumped on a plate with no sauce or vegies at all so it just got abit boring in the end, probably more of a share plate maybe. The standout would have been the roast duck which was pretty good

Walked passed by around lunch time and noticed that there was a lunch special menu, so decided to give it a go. I picked my favourite pepper & salt calamari with rice. The calamari was soft and nice despite it’s a valued lunch set. Chinese tea was included too. The friendly staff brought me some ice for making an iced jasmine tea in this hot summer day. Thanks for such a good lunch time.
