We discovered the European Cafe about 10 years ago when we moved into the area. We have been here many many times over the years and I can honestly say that we have never had a meal that we haven't thoroughly enjoyed. The food is fantastic. I'm a fussy eater and can never just have a straight meal without taking out certain things and they are always happy to accommodate my dislikes. Last Saturday my husband felt like a bowl of spaghetti marinara so we went around 6pm and as it was a warm day we sat out the front on lovely clean chairs and table. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. My husband ordered the spaghetti marinara and I thought I'd try the chicken risotto. I have had risotto elsewhere before and they have always been bland in flavour but I wanted to to have it and boy am I glad I did.... WILD.. WILD... WILD !! It was so delicious. You could taste the wine, onion and cream sauce. I usually have the gnocchi ragu which is amazing also. My husband ate quietly which is something he only does when he is in love with the food. He always says it's the best spaghetti marinara. The serves are a generous size. We also love their garlic schiacciata which we always have while we're waiting for our food to come. Their pizzas are delicious also. We highly recommend going there if you love authentic Italian food in a great...

I am so sad that you have let your families restaurant, reputation and honour fall into disrepute …. And as a result I will never step into your...

What else to try in an Italian eatery than that bane of an average chef's life, risotto!
In the case of this establishment, the chilli prawn risotto has restored my faith in the dish. Perfectly al dente rice in a delicious, not too creamy, expertly balanced sauce with plenty of plump & juicy (clearly fresh) prawns.
My sensational meal was completed with a generous side of some of the tastiest roasted vegetables I can remember eating and accompanied by a top quality vino chosen from a decent 'by the glass' list.
If it's good, honest Italian food you're after, served in an environment that would make Nonna feel at home, then this is the place for you.
Judging by the steady stream of customers on a cool Tuesday night in an otherwise sleepy Norwood, this parade stalwart has a large following of returning patrons. I highly recommend you check it out for yourself and find out why 👍
Atmosphere can be a bit like my Italian mates' family dinners, which is authentic but perhaps not ideal if you have sensory issues. I'm sure they could book you in at a quieter...
