Some take away point from my experience here, please note that I didn't get the chance to try a lot of the options :
before I get into the food, it must be said that the ambiance of this restaurant was really good, I enjoyed sitting in the booth with quiet music in the background, and soft lighting hitting the table enabling me to have great conversations with my family and friends.
I ordered three different Pad Thai's. All three Pad Thai's had a slight sweetness that I appreciated, however, it lacked a certain heat which I believe it would have benefited from. I also thought the Pad Thai lacked some body and really wished that it pushed the sweet and sour juxtaposition a bit more. Furthermore the temperature at which the Pad Thai was served was poor, it was a bit cold, which was dissapointing.
I also tried the Luksa. This was the most dissapointing of all that I ordered. It was far too forward with the coconut flavour, and definately lacked heat which would have brought up the body of the soup, which brings me onto the point of the soup lacking body. I felt that the aromas and flavours of the soup did not stay for long enough. That being said the prawns and other fish that was within the soup was perfectly cooked and lifted what was a dissapointing order.
I also ordered some starters for the table which were good but weren't really memorable.
Overall, whilst I belive the atmosphere to be good, in terms of food I do believe there to be a lot of work. However, Danny's has a lot of potential which I think if the rights steps are taken will turn this bistro into...
Read moreWOULD NEVER VISIT AGAIN!!! I had a terrible experience in this restaurant for my Wife’s birthday dinner meal. We dine out very regularly and this has been the poorest thai food quality we have ever experienced.
We ordered Tom yum vegetable soup and Oysters for Entree. Pad Thai Veg, Veg Fried Rice, and Chicken Lemongrass Stir Fry with Jasmine Rice for Mains.
The Tom yum soup lacked flavours. Pad Thai was terrible, bland, and not worth eating. I've eaten a lot of pad Thai, and this is probably the worst I've tasted yet. We literally left half of the dish.
My dish was supposedly a chicken with lemongrass stir fry. When it was served it had an unappetising all-over light brown appearance with the consistency of a soup rather than a stir fry. The few stringy bits of chicken served in the dish appeared to have been boiled for a long time rather than having been fried. The over-all taste of the dish was unpleasant, verging on inedible
To conclude my review - Awful and flavourless food with Danny’s the owner debating regarding your feedback rather than giving solutions on the day. No attempt to correct the situation was done by the owner as he clearly had no interest in trying to preserve his customer service. He kept debating us saying that our tastes were wrong and that there was no problem at...
Read moreThe food is average for Thai cuisine but the reason I'm posting this review is because the restaurant has refused to honour Entertainment Book coupon citing 'special' as a reason for the refusal. I mentioned the following condition from the the Entertainment Book but this was simply ignored. There was a notice next to the cash register that they do not accept the Entertainment Book offers fot lunch special, which is clearly in contradiction with the conditions of the EB: Restaurant 'specials' If the restaurant is running a breakfast, lunch or dinner special or set menu, your Card, Voucher or Digital Memberships is still valid. If it incorporates more than one course, the value of the main course portion, or 25% off will be deducted from the bill. At $19 for just the meal this was an expensive and not particularly delicious lunch (which might have been somewhat bearable with the discount). Definitely will not be...
