Annisa- I assume she is a manager as she was wearing a different uniform to the rest of the staff. Man wearing a different coloured shirt- assumed also a manager. Seems like he doesn’t actually know what he’s doing. Just trying to make it look like he’s helping. Greeted us at the door and passed us off to a waiter who seated us. Plates were dusty/ had kind of fluff on them. They also had not been cleaned properly as there was still water marks on them. Menus were dirty. Glasses were dirty/ not polished. Cutlery was also dirty/ not polished. Later learned that the staff were barely wiping the cutlery with a rag after coming out of a dishwasher. We asked for a glass of Pepsi max and a bottle of solo. Instead got offered a glass of Pepsi max and a glass of solo. Tried to correct Annisa but she ended up giving us a bottle of both.

Annisa also free poured vodka into a jug cocktail that she was making. Free pouring is illegal in Australia.

Ordered a serve of the Bruschetta Doughballs and a Margherita pizza and a serve of the Snowball dessert Doughballs. The Bruschetta Doughballs were very nice and came out very quickly. The pizza you have to cut yourself. Not sure how safe this is, especially with a lot of kids in the restaurant. The pizza also came served on the pan it was cooked on in the oven. It was still quite warm when it was brought over to us. Also not sure how safe that is. The Snowball dessert Doughballs were also nice.

Overall the customer service was good and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, but just a few things could...

The atmosphere is pretty cool, and I like the neon lights and booths. Staff behind the counter/kitchen is very friendly and thanked us for coming.

Unfortunately, the vegan margherita pizza I had was a bit bland and far too oily - it had me feeling horribly ill for a few hours after eating there. The doughballs were cute but a bit bland for what they were, aside from what they're served with (the fresh tomato was awesome!) - I think they would be perfect if they had more of a buttery dough or had a cheesy centre to balance it out.

The man who served us wasn't paying attention to standard hospitality cues - he kept coming back to our table within a minute after we had said we needed more time and were deep into looking at the menu, not ready to order yet. It was quite annoying and was like he didn't have much else to do or forgot we kept saying we needed more time - it would be nice if a little more attention was paid to these kind of things.

It was a chilled place to come to and might come back again - would definitely recommend a gourmet veg pizza with pumpkin or sweet potato, as I think that would be popular! I know I would definitely come back for...

We loved our first visit to Doughballs Rundle Place. Gorgeous, classy decor, comfortable chairs. Staff were very friendly and professional, well presented and attentive. Food was great, the dough balls are cute and tasted great, light little balls with a great variety of dipping options! Pizzas, delicious, easy to eat, not heavy at all, great flavours. Coffee was good too, an exceptional end to our lunch. Dessert menu looked delicious, but we were too full to partake. Thanks to the staff today.

**My husband uses a wheelchair, access to the restaurant is step free and open. Staff happy to seat us close to entry and move chairs.

Rundle Place elevators did take a bit of negotiating. The lift closest to Rundle Mall would not take us to level 1. The elevators themselves are narrow to enter and quite small, this did make the process quite challenging, after finding the lifts is the middle of ground floor...

I’m going to type a sentence that I wasn’t expecting to… This is the best pizza I’ve had in Australia. I’ve had it in Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns and Adelaide from a variety of different venues and styles. There are lots of subpar pizza places in Adelaide parading around as “original food oven” or masquerading as high end Italian ingredients pizza. This place doesn’t claim anything like that. My jaw hit the floor when this pie came out. So thin, I could have getting a paper cut. It comes with a pizza cutter for you to do the work yourself. This is always a tell of an awesome spot that doesn’t start the cooling process for you. I ate this entire pizza and felt great. It was so light. It crispy with an enjoyable taste. There was no excess grease or bloat. It was damn near perfect. I ordered the Margherita pizza so I cannot comment on the other pies with additional toppings. Top notch, incredible.

Very clean environment and friendly staff. Only negative thing to say was that we weren’t given plates for our pizza slices or DoughBalls that we were sharing. Not sure if this was on purpose but was a bit tricky trying to eat while having a baby in a carrier so had to make do with a napkin. Here you cut your own pizzas which seems like a fun novelty but not the easiest if you choose the traditional thin base it can be hard to cut all the way through and I’d rather leave that to someone else. Enjoyed our time and we chose well to go at a lower foot traffic time. Would’ve expected to see more dough ball options on the menu considering the name of the restaurant but the pizza was certainly tasty! Comfortable chairs and atmosphere for any group style, would recommend and will return!
