There is so much good to be said about this place - the staff are friendly and helpful, the decor is colourful, zany and fun, and they have a comprehensive food and drink menu. The cocktails are little pricey compared to most bars around Adelaide, though they are delicious, well presented, and decently sized.
However, there were some technical and staffing issues that could have really ruined my birthday celebrations had I not been with such a great group of friends.
The karaoke room was not cheap for the hour we ordered, but I figured it would be a fun activity to add to our night. The room was comfy and looked great, there were a decent song selection, as well, but there wasn't much more to appreciate.
First, only one microphone worked, and when we gave the second to someone to try and fix it, they never came back. We could also not find a way to turn the music down if we wanted to, which meant it was hard for other people to participate with just the one mic. Second, neither the QR code nor the app worked for ordering, so we to go order at the very understaffed bar (which was a decent walk away). We tried to go in shifts so everyone would get a chance to use the room and sing some karaoke, but initially, most of us went to the bar and waited to order. It was lucky we had done pre drinks because ordering once took so long that I wasn't really willing to do it again. We had been told by the friendly staff that we would have the option of ordering to the room.
Between trying to get the microphine fixed and ordering drinks, realistically, we only spent about 20 minutes together as a whole group, which was a giant bummer on a special night.
We ended up setting up karaoke at home. It sounded better, the songs loaded quicker, and there was more to choose from, and we have enough mics for everyone. It was certainly cheaper.
I do want to stress, though, that the staff were great. There just clearly needs to be more of them, and perhaps a bit more focus on improving the karaoke experience and technology. Not everyone is splitting the cost, and it did matter that there were so many issues for...
Read moreRegarding Strike bowling. Booked 2 weeks in advance and had a few let downs. Was initially over charged, not told about deals. Manager rectified this somewhat and was helpful. Arrived 10 mins early as we had a large group to almost be told we would need to wait for ppl who were in our booked lane to finish (they had only just started), did not accept this as we had dinner reservations. Worker moved those poor people. So was helpful but this would have been avoided if the company did not allow ppl to self book reserved lanes. After reading other similar reviews seems profit trumps service I guess. If you want a proper bowling experience go elsewhere, this is more for fun and the little kids enjoyed. Our last turn of bowling was let down by technical issues and worker could not help, was told the strings would untangle themselves, didn’t happen. The arcade games were good. Won’t do...
Read moreOn arrival everything seemed good. We came as a group of three for our friends birthday. However, when we checked in they said our bowling lane was ready for us but this was not true. We waited for about 5 minutes for the other people to leave which we didn’t mind doing. But one thing that left a sour taste in our mouth was one of the employees who was very apologetic and kind came up to us and asked us we had to leave which was very strange we asked why and they said it’s nothing we’ve done it was on them. And we were rushed to leave even though we had paid to have 2 sessions of bowling and were on our last one. He then proceeded to give us gift vouchers which expire in June and they are only open Monday to Wednesday and we worked full time jobs. As we walked out we were all expecting a huge bunch of people waiting but no one was there. Honestly wouldn’t...
