Room 19 is a fantastic cafĂ© in the heart of the city, offering a unique twist on the typical brunch experience. What sets it apart is its Asian-inspired menu, which goes beyond the usual avocado toast. The portions are impressively large, making it great value for money. One of my personal highlights was the matcha latte—smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet.

The space itself is well-designed, with plenty of seating, which can be hard to find in popular city cafĂ©s. We visited around 2:30 PM when the lunchtime crowd was thinning out, making for a much more relaxed experience. It’s also worth noting that Room 19 stays open until 3 PM, slightly later than many other coffee spots, giving late lunchers a bit more flexibility.

Service was generally efficient, though the staff could have been a bit friendlier. While they weren’t outright rude, a little more warmth would have made the experience even better. That said, the quality of the food and drinks more than made up for it.

Overall, Room 19 is a great spot for those looking for something beyond the usual brunch fare. The generous portions, unique flavors, and central location make it a highly recommended stop. Would...

room 19 on Rundle Street is a fantastic spot for a delicious and refreshing meal! I ordered the Prawn Sando and the Iced Dirty Matcha, and both were absolutely delightful.

The Prawn Sando was perfectly executed—the crispy exterior gave it a satisfying crunch, while the inside was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The addition of fish roe added a lovely texture and flavor that elevated the dish even further. It was truly a treat!

The Iced Dirty Matcha was equally impressive. The flavor was perfectly balanced, with no overpowering matcha scent, and it wasn’t overly sweet. It was just the right pick-me-up, especially on a sunny day. I forgot about mentioning my preferred milk but thankfully, they proactively asked me. :)

Their excellent service really stood out especially when it was time for our group to pay the bill, the staff already knew exactly what each of us ordered—no need for us to repeat anything. This level of attentiveness and organisation shows their dedication to providing a seamless dining experience.

If you’re looking for a cozy place with great food, drinks, and exceptional service, room 19 should definitely be on your list. Highly recommend...

The food was pretty good, but not good enough to come back for. The booths were so uncomfortable - felt like they were designed to make you want to leave as fast as possible.

The service was odd. Drinks came out all at random times, and most of the table had finished eating before I even got my meal. When I asked where my meal was, the response was that it was just sitting on the counter waiting for toppings... um, excuse me??

On top of that, the booking process was bizarre. It says you have to order both food and drink to "enhance your dining experience". Lol... Mate, I'll choose what I want to put in my body, thanks. Don't pretend this is to "enhance my experience" and not force me to pay more money. I also went all the way through the booking process and it didn't work and you have to call them anyway.

I don't know if the social media stuff was initiated by the cafe or not - but to be clear, this is NOT a Taylor Swift cafe. This is a cafe with Taylor Swift background music, a few vinyls on the wall, and one menu item called "Enchanted Hot Cakes.

Some of the responses on other reviews is also really rude. Had I read those before, I wouldn't have...

Another café recommendation by my friend so naturally I had to come and try it out for myself. Came here on a sunny Wednesday morning and it was very quiet which I liked. I was greeted by a friendly waitress as soon as I walked in and chose to sit right by the window so I could people-watch. My friend had very high praise for their coffee and food and I decided to order a flat white and the fried chicken croffle. Flat white was great, nice, smooth and strong. The chicken croffle was absolutely incredible, generous portion of crispy and juicy fried chicken, I really appreciated the yuzu dressing on the side with the salad and the croffle, which added so much flavour to the chicken and made it a lot more refreshing and easy to eat. The croffle was nicely done, flaky, fluffy and light. I thoroughly enjoyed the food so much that I came back for a second time a week later and ordered the exact same things! The vibes were nice inside and the other staff member was also very approachable. I highly recommend this place in Adelaide aside from Leisurely coffee. These two are the only places in Adelaide where they offer both genuinely good coffee and food options!

Room 19 is a standout on Rundle Street, with a menu that excites with more than the average brunch regulars. You will be spoiled for choice with the Asian inspired eclectic mash-up on offer. The food is generous and well presented, with my only criticism being that, items featured on the menu should be more than just a small dollop, a micro herb or tiny seaweed crisp, that may have been carefully placed with a pair of tweezers - my pet hate. Full table service is another welcome surprise, and staff were friendly and efficient. Prices are on the high side, but isnt everything these days! Menu specials are worth keeping an eye out for, and today's was a bit of a 'posh' fish finger sandwich that looked fantastic! A must try is the Honey Butter Fries that tasted like popcorn hot chips, delicious! Highly recommended.
