My friends and I had been going to Schnithouse for 3 years now for their lunch special, and we even ordered a few times from their takeaway menu during the covid-19 period. The portion was huge and the lunch special price (around $12 for a meal) made it extra worth it. However, about a week ago, I made a phone call to order our usual lunch meal (1 chicken schnitzel and 2 protein penne), but when my friend and I went and collect it, the waitress told us that we should've said on the phone that we wanted the lunch time specials. She said that because the portion of the food would be larger if it wasn't the lunch specials, it would be counted as the full price. Please note that there wasn't any difference in the portion of the meal at all and that we phoned in during lunchtime. We had done this multiple times and had never encountered an experience like this.

To finish off an awsome day we decided to go to the schnithouse, if I could rate more than 5 stars I would. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely woman with a warm smile, we had booked a reservation and got a table, however because there was an empty booth we where moved from a table to a booth. Customer service 10/10. I ordered a plate of onion rings and a Bollywood schnitzel. The onion rings came out pretty instantly, and they were amazing. The schnitzel came out 25 minutes later and to no surprise the schnitzel was perfect, just enough curry sauce, perfectly cooked schnitzel, amazing chips and delicious mint sauce. Food 10/10. The food was amazing, the food came out at an amazing rate and the customer service was incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone with a good appetite, I will come here everytime I'm in adelaide.

Came here on a recommendation from a friend, but unfortunately, it was not the most pleasant of experiences. Not knowing that I should take a seat anywhere, I stood at the counter for 3 minutes before anyone took notice of me. I asked if I could take a seat and the waitress said, "yeah, just sit anywhere". I then waited to see a menu. I asked after 5 minutes and was told, "go to the cash register". Have a sign saying, "please take a seat and order at the counter when you are ready. " My order came pretty quickly and that's when the biggest disappointment happened. The schnitzel was dry and burnt in some sections. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is that the chips were pretty good. I'm going to have to have a word to my friend 😃

DO NOT EAT HERE! Worst experience at a restaurant ever.

While I have heard excellent things about other Schnithouse venues, this franchise severely lacks both food quality and customer service.

There were many issues, though my main complaint is about the quality of food. I ordered the entree salt and pepper calamari, in which the calamari was lukewarm (which is a worry with seafood) and batter was completely falling off. It was chewy, inedible and came out so fast that it had to have been sitting around for a while. Upon letting the staff know, I was told they could make me another one. I told them I’d rather a refund as I did not trust the quality of their food. They rudely refused saying they don’t do refunds (even when the food is inedible) and all they could do was make me a new one. When the replacement calamari dish came out (again, suspiciously quickly), it was warmer but batter was still falling off and calamari was chewy - it was as if they had put it in the microwave to ensure it was warm enough.

Additionally, their menu is completely deceptive. I ordered wings for half price all day on Wednesdays, and after paying, was told that it doesn’t include the Fringe period. While this does say this on the menu, it is in tiny writing on a completely different page. There was no asterisk after the wings promotion to let me know there were T&Cs applicable to the promotion. If this were the case, I wouldn’t have ordered the wings at all as they are (definitely) not worth the full menu price.

Not only was I completely ignored by multiple staff while waiting to order (which I overlooked due to the busy Fringe period), but the restaurant was so full that customers and staff couldn’t move through the venue without asking multiple people to move, which is incredibly dangerous and inaccessible to people in wheelchairs, and the toilets were absolutely appalling.

Upon emailing the venue with my issues, they basically told me it was my fault and they would do nothing to rectify the issue, so I am posting this online to warn all other customers to not waste their money at this horrific venue!

I am not one to normally complain, but for the price I paid, I would expect to be able to actually eat my meal. Considering this is one of the few Coeliac friendly places in Adelaide that my sister can eat at, I am completely disappointed that we have to add another restaurant to the list of places we can’t eat at.

Appalling experience, do...

ithouse Rundle Street. I will never be returning.

We went there for dinner at 9pm last night. The menus are huge, the first page has a whole 1/4 saying there is happy hour between 9pm and 10pm. Also to advise if there was any dietary requirements.

We placed our orders at 9.10 asked if a certain spirit was also $5. The rude waitress responded with we don't do happy hour because of the fringe. I didn't think much of it because I thought fair enough.

When I got back to the table I looked again at the menu again and there is no astrix nothing to say T&C's apply. This is very disappointing when a business would be making so much money already in such a busy period. It's also blatent false advertising.

We ordered a schnitzel with a Mexican topping with nachos. We specifically asked for no jalapeno. When we received it there was jalapenos in it. I straight away notified a waitress to rectify the situation.

She walked off not happy and came back to say the sauce has it in there and you need to just pick them out. This is not an ok response to someone who may have an allergy.

Then spoke to another lady I'm guessing one of the owners. She said there was nothing the could do and was continually eye rolling me and awful body language.

I said if the front of house staff advised us that they were in the sauce we wouldn't have ordered it easy. I requested to have another meal instead as they couldn't make what we wanted without jalapenos.

It took a good 10 minutes of arguing with the manager before she got her husband to come over and luckily was more than happy to help and understood.

I went in at a kind approach at first because I work in hospitality and i know how it works. But when you have multiple staff glaring at you, rolling there eyes while you are speaking and not wanting to help fix the situation it starts to piss you off. I didn't raise my voice, I just wanted a meal for my friend to eat.

He ended up getting us another meal. But all in all the WORST customer service I have ever received. Except for the male owner and one girl behind the bar. Everyone else looked miserable and not...

The Schnithouse is an excellent choice for schnitzel lovers or for those who are hungey for a big meal.

One of the main highlights include their wide range of schnitzel choices. Anything from a classic pub schnitzel to a schnitzel with beff and nachos on top, to schnitzel with maple bacon or even to a schnitzel with mac and cheese. I encourage everyone considering the schnithouse to take a look at the menu for the full variety available.

Of course, there is more than just schnitzels available. With salad's, pizzas, burgers and even vegetarian options/alternatives available. So, even if you want a vegetarian option you can still enjoy a good schnitzel or meal.

The atmosphere is pleasant and generally cheerful. Most guests tend to be older families, groups of friends and bussinessmen out for a meal after work. The staff are great and genuinely want you to have a great meal.

The location is great and the selection of drinks perfectly compliments the food available. However, the schnithouse is definitely not the cheapest option. The price is not without merit and definitely worth it, but just be aware of that before deciding to come here.

The bar is also a welcome addition the schnithouse. Service is quick and quality is high. Perfect to go with your meal. It is possible to just come for a drink or a drink and dessert schnitzel, but I would say the main attraction is still a dinner/lunch meal.

I recommend ensuring that you give the schnithouse a try if you are visiting Adelaide or in the area. Esepcially if you are considering a dining option for an event or special occassion, this is a great place to enjoy it. You will not be dissapointed and you will definitely not leave hungry. A fun, fulfilling and awesome...
