We needed a quick dinner before a show, so thought the sushi train would be perfect. No one greeted us as we walked in at all. It was a warm day and the air conditioning was definitely not working well enough because all the food on the train was warm! I had to quickly eat something and wanted to try the salmon, because usually it is my favourite. It not only was super bland compared to other places I have been, but it was also on average at least a dollar or two more expensive each plate.. and warm to the touch. I ended up paying $36 for food for one person. I could have gone to a much nicer restaurant for that. ALSO, the main reason I am writing this: I have FOOD POISONING now. If you can't keep the food cold on the train, then don't offer a sushi train experience. I have become very sick from eating here and it was definitely the worst sushi train experience of my life. (and I go to a LOT of sushi trains). The staff only spoke to us when we stood up to pay. and there was bland, overpriced and unsafe food. I wish I didn't pay so much money for so little food just to get food poisoning from it. I...

Take away was alright. I had a few takeaways and it was not bad. Sometimes tuna smelled a bit otherwise the rest were fine.
However we had dine-in the other day at dinner time. My partner and I had some salmons and scallops nigiris and it tasted (seriously) awful. It tasted a way below average and the worst one was a pink plate ($6.8) with raw tuna-ish plate. (Cannot recall its exact name) On that night after dinner, both of us had a severe stomach-ache and head-ache and we were visiting the toilet all day night. We suspected that some nigiris we had were a problem because we didn't eat anything else on that night.
Some sushis were very very dry. You literally cannot taste anything at all. I think sushi hub needs to improve their basic product quality.
Overall, I don't wanna come back for sushi at this place (city one). I might try other places with good reviews but no...
Read moreFor anyone else checking if they got food poisoning here, my partner ate 2 x Vegetarian Sushi rolls Thursday the 31st January 2020 at around 12:30pm and got sick the following day (as did I without eating there). Just 4 hours ago I can see someone else has reported food poisoning and the hospitalisation of a group who had platters together, up until this point we did not suspect Sushi Hub. I didn't eat any sushi, my partner has passed on the sickness to me, this might suggest Norovirus from someone preparing the food if so? We're not 100% sure if it was here that we got sick, but its a weird coincidence that someone else has left a food poisoning google review today too.
I've reported this to SA Health based on the other google review and the fact that the possible contamination has spread to people who haven't eaten here (me). Hopefully they can get to the bottom of it quickly so its not passed on...
