Where does one start, I am a pretty laid back guy, I have never ever left a google review, usually it's just "Karen's" complaining that the decor upset the feng shui......well, I can't stay silent about this place and I hope that this can save others a terrible meal, being treated with contempt and then passed off when criticism is offered...
First off, lead to table by a waitress thst had clearly not showered and appeared to be high...ok, can live with that... Next, said waitress asks for drinks order, then comes back 5 min later because she forgot, eventually returns, manages to fail waitstaff 101 and spills 2 of 3 drinks all over one member and the table, suide boots filled with beer and a cocktail. ok, that happens, no apologies were forthcoming, moved to a new table, that hadnt been cleaned, wet patron given a dirty table cloth to dry herself....at least the floors were timber, she was able to wring out her sock on the floor...
meals came..3 signature prime rib steaks, excellent, not cooked to order perfection, but thats ok, happens... the mac'n'cheese was microwaved, and had a jatz cracker broken in 3 on top....mmmmm appetizing.... the steak was gray in colour, but the end of the meal, of which none of us finished, the was still half of the "steak" left on the plate, all gristle, fat and even silverskin! still waiting for our water....and very feined apologies.... so we got up and left to pay our bill... heres the fun part...3x $40 meals, no extras, 3 drinks, $179! they still charged us for the spilled drinks, WTAF!...... so words were said....the owner "comped" us the drinks thst were spilled.....annnnnd that's it... we were informed, that the gristle and silverskin that was unable to be chewed was in fact, marbling and that we just didnt understand marbled steak...... of course this in broken english because the owner is fresh of the boat... unable to comprehend what had happened, in stunned disbelief, we all left, never to return. On our way out, the stoned waitress was returning meals from one table to another because she took them to the wrong table, hopefully no one had a bite first.... If you could rate negative 5 stars, thst wouldnt be low enough....Eat here at your...

As a muscular, black bearded man, 2 & a half desks high of cheese (the metric system is for cowards)...with a deep appreciation for a good steak, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Airlie's finest Steakery Hogsbreath. For the alignment of the planets the greatest day ever my Birthday!
So...Let me tell you, it was an experience that made my taste buds and carnivorous cravings dance with delight.
From the moment I walked through the door, I a man with the width of 5 mine craft cubes...I was greeted by the rich aroma of sizzling steaks that filled the air. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with dim lighting and a rustic decor that set the stage for a hearty meal.
I started with a Calamari & Wings a banging combo!
But the star of the show was, of course, the steak. I opted for a perfectly cooked, extra thick Steak, and it was a carnivore's dream come true. The exterior had a delightful char, while the interior was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was an exquisite journey of smoky goodness that paired perfectly with the in-house steak sauce. I finished my steak & my 2 companions Steaks (who couldn't finish theirs as only REAL men can finish these bad boys!)
The sides were equally impressive. I couldn't resist ordering the calamari (no greens). They were the ideal companions to the steak, creating a symphony of flavors and textures that left me in culinary ecstacy.
For dessert, I indulged in a decadent chocolate lava cake that provided the sweet ending to a carnivorous feast.
In conclusion, Hogsbreath is a haven for those who, like me, appreciate a well-prepared steak. The combination of mouthwatering steaks, cozy ambience, and impeccable service make it a destination worth visiting. Whether you're a meat enthusiast or just looking for a memorable dining experience, this steakhouse...
Read moreWe had such a fantastic experience at Hog’s Breath Airlie Beach, where we celebrated our Sayonara Party (Karate Club's after tournament party) on May 31st. And a big part of that was thanks to the wonderful owner Adam, who went above and beyond to make our visit special. We were planning a surprise decoration for the 50th yr anniversary of our club leader, and Adam and the manger Ash, was incredibly accommodating and supportive—helping us with the setup, making sure everything went smoothly, and even offering thoughtful suggestions to enhance the surprise., he even offer bluetac and helium gas for the balloons, so cool!
What really stood out was how amazing he was with the kids. He was warm, engaging, and made sure they felt welcome and entertained throughout the meal. It’s rare to see that level of genuine hospitality and attention to detail these days.
The food was delicious, and we thought it will take long to get our food, as we have over 100 guests, but the service was fast and their team was just amazing. Highly recommend for families, celebrations, or anyone looking for a relaxed, friendly dining experience with top-notch customer care. On behalf of the Whitsunday Kyokushin Karate - Proserpie Dojo, we really thank you Hogs Breath, we surely...
