On our journey from Sydney to Canberra for the hot air balloon festival on March 9, 2024, my companion and I decided to make a delightful stopover at Your Vintage Occasion Tea Salon in Bowral to indulge in their high tea. Despite not having a reservation, we were thrilled when they could accommodate us.
Firstly, we adored the location, nestled inside an art gallery. This allowed us to admire beautiful artworks by various artists while waiting for our high tea to arrive.
The vintage china—teapot, teacup, and plates—added a classy and charming touch, making our high tea experience even more visually delightful.
The high tea’s three-tier plate was stunning and another highlight of our visit. We ordered the classic, rose, lavender, and three cheese scones, each paired with jams, Chantilly cream, lemon curd, and butter. Yum, yum, yum! The rose scones, in particular, were a standout, especially with the rose-flavored Chantilly cream (simply yum).
The savory selection included a delightful assortment of pinwheel sandwiches, sausage rolls, and mini quiches. The desserts were equally delicious and satisfying.
We were spoiled for choice with their impressive selection of teas, and the super welcoming and cheerful service made this one of our best high tea experiences by far.

Read moreI came to this place today at 2:30pm, the lady serving almost looked as though she was going to burst into flames when we walked through the door. We asked if we could have a seat in and she responded with “you can only have scones because I have to go!”. When I mentioned that I checked google and the opening times stated the place closed at 4pm, she stated she was only a worker and needed to get out of there. She came to take our order but we weren’t given menus. When we asked her for a menu she stated “I thought you’d know what you wanted” and huffed and puffed stating she really had to go. Seeing as there was 1.5hrs until closing, we didn’t find this satisfactory service. Scones were amazing but service is terrible. I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt but the last time we came, the lady greeted us in the same...
Read moreWe visited this tea house with friends on a Sunday afternoon to wrap up our day trip to Bowral. The place has a charming shabby chic atmosphere. A friendly lady greeted us and pointed out which tables were reserved, then mentioned we could take any available table since we hadn't booked ahead. After finding a table in the middle, our orders were promptly taken, but when the lady noticed it was cramped for our group, she kindly moved us to a cozy corner once it was available. We ordered a variety of scones, coffees, and teas, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. Inside, you can access the Milk Factory Gallery (photography not allowed), which features some interesting paintings...
