8848 Momo House — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I recently came here with my family. We’ve never had Momos before.

We ordered on our phones, and nowhere did it mention the Fried or Steamed Momos were spicy.

So I ordered the Momo share platter and the Fried Momos with Chips (and clarified they weren’t spicy).

But they were very spicy for me.

I can’t tolerate spice at all - I actually said this in my order notes too and confirmed when they brought the food out. I don’t have a condition, I just can’t stand when my mouth is on fire.

I only ate 4, and without exaggeration, my mouth was on fire and I couldn’t eat anymore. My lips were tingling from the spice too.

The chips with my meal were soggy and bland, and same as my brother’s. I barely touched my meal or the share platter.

I will say, the naan (sorry I forgot the actual name - it’s the $3 roti style bread) was so delicious. I ended up ordering 3 because my main and shared meals were inedible for me.

Staff turned the music on after we arrived, and it was playing too loud and we were the furtherest table away from the speaker.

The menu needs to state that the Momos are spicy to whatever degree you want to add, but there was no mention at all.

Staff should’ve been honest with me.

I didn’t enjoy my experience which could’ve been prevented with more...

Worst customer service, menu understanding and Arrogance.

Took 10’min to order as there order desk had very limited understanding of their menu and some combinations did not make sense at all. Once the platter order came, it was opposite to what was ordered and on top of that the serving lady had arrogance in making us feel that we lied. When explained about the ordering fiasco another waiter acknowledged and confirms will correct the mistake if we wait for 20 min and then another waiter comes in with arrogance and throws the plate on table only to make us feel cheap and eventually calling out that we ordered wrongly and again trying to show us down. I had to leave the meal then and there which was their mistake and tell them that if they don’t believe in understanding their mistakes it’s worthless to consider ever returning to their restaurant and waiter still kept arrogantly blaming us out. No management to intervene and no respect...

Everything there is so much perfect, the fusion of live music with beers as well as customer service is delightful, however my incident on friday night was pretty much hurtful in relation to my attachment there " we were 6 of us dining and dancing, the restaurant was about to close so we decided to leave and head somewhere else, two of friends were already on exit gate , I was carrying mine, my friend's and my sister's phone , i was out of exit door leaving, one of the employ there in service called me back and asked me to show my phone , i showed him that's my sister's phone , she was there with me as well, this is something i didn't find good to attend a customer, i had pretty muc of conversation about that as i found that really insulting. I dont hold any grudges, that still is my sweet spot sometimes amd i still will attend that...
