I would like to share an experience I had today at your restaurant in Fortitude Valley. I don't usually do this, but I felt extremely uncomfortable and discriminated against.
I got to know your restaurant through my brother-in-law's family, who have been your customers for over 15 years and had spoken highly of your famous laksa soup. When gathering with my family at your restaurant, where most of the staff already know us, I decided to pay a visit.
Today, after work, I came to dine alone with the desire to enjoy your delicious soup. However, the following happened: a young bearded waiter looked at me disdainfully from the beginning. I requested a table for one, and he informed me that I couldn't dine inside, only outside, despite there being unoccupied tables indoors. Due to the current heat, I preferred not to sit outside. I explained that I only wanted to enjoy my soup, but he insisted that I leave and pointed to the exit. I stood outside, other customers arrived, and he seated them inside. Upon returning, he told me that if I wanted to eat, I had to do it outside, even though there were still available tables inside.
In conclusion, I believe this is not an appropriate way to treat customers. I rarely take such actions, but I felt so discriminated against by your waiter that I felt compelled to do so, as I felt humiliated.
I just wanted to express my point of view and emphasize the importance of treating customers with respect before discriminating against them in such a manner.
Thank you for your attention, and I hope you have a good day.
Thank...
Read moreSuperbowl is currently featuring 5 of their menu items as part of a Winter Warmers lineup. We dropped by recently to try 3 of these dishes: combination laksa, $17.80 BBQ pork wonton noodle soup, $15.80 century egg & lean pork congee, $15.80
The laksa features a base paste prepared over a process spanning 2-3 days. You can certainly taste the complexity of flavours with every sip. The Malaysian style curry laksa can be paired with a variety of proteins/vegetables; our combination version was packed full of ingredients including roast pork, char siu, chicken, prawns, squid, and tofu puff. Top stuff.
If you can't take heat/spice then something like the BBQ pork wonton noodle soup may be more to your liking. The soup itself is quite light, with the stronger flavours coming through in the char siu and wontons. It's a very full bowl too.
Somehow we also managed to fit in a taste of the classic century egg and pork congee. At some establishments you may be fishing through the bowl to find the bits of century egg. Not so here, where a whole egg (sliced into wedges) is up front and centre for your viewing and eating pleasure.
This was an invited visit; part of our meal was complimentary, and we happily ordered and paid for extra food cos it be good! We'll be back for sure, and hope to bring more people to partake in the shared dishes from the rest of their...

I've eaten here about 10 times over the years. Usually when Enjoy Inn is closed or similar.
It's about 20% more expensive. 65% less flavour. 40% less generosity.
Ordered delivery tonight...
First thing we noticed is that the dishes were skimp. Even rice was half full. Which was weird for $5 of plain rice. (Enjoy Inn $4).
Beef/Pork tasted like bicarb soda. Almost zero flavour.
Kung Po chicken was a mystery meat. "Spicy" - did they forget to season? [Edit - gets weirder, had dried chillies, which also have no spice - How is this even possible? - What did the do?]
Spring Rolls - Nice and Crispy! We'll presented. But was pretty much a paste inside.
Dim Sim. Edible.
Rice - Actually really well made rice. Just short changed given the price.
"Crispy" version of chow mein usually has noodles on the side. But this was closer to the non-crispy version. Was OK. But still no flavour and the meats seasoned with Bicarb.
It's OK.
If my friends want to go, I won't protest, but won't repeat by choice.
Here's a hot take: Family said not to bother keeping leftover...
