Amazing little bar in valley, usually our teams go to place for after work drinks catchup Amazing staff, I don’t personally drink alcohol but they’ve got good selection of soft drinks and good coffee too Good snack options too, one of the team member raves about their burgers too Good spot for grabbing a drink on the way back to home Nice ambiance with lots of antiques to see in the bar, there is a small kiosk coffee as well for quick coffee

The vibe at Alfred and Constance is unique, set in a beautiful old Queenslander, it’s quite casual but fun. There’s plenty of dining areas both inside and out. Staff have always been friendly. Have always enjoyed my time and food here, unfortunately just never seem to enjoy the cocktails too much.

Had lunch on the cafe side which has ready-to-eat food like paninis and salads (I think the other side is made-to-order). Meredith's Apricot Chicken is absolutely delicious and their salad selections offer more than your regular side salad. Great ambience and lovely, friendly staff.

UPDATE: The Owners responded, didn't even acknowledge that on the 6 August we received a confirmation email from the Assistant Venue Manager for our booking on Saturday night. Literally nobody thought to inform their bookings that they would be closed. Again, more confirmation that they would rather spin poor customer service into a chance to promote their "exciting, refreshing" change than actually care about their customers actual experience. Says a lot! How many times has this venue undergone management changes??

Atrocious venue with no regard for customers!!! We booked a space for 20 people on Saturday night, got an email confirming it was all booked in. Then we rock up on Saturday night, well actually, our friends all rocked up to a closed up business!!!

If you are thinking of organising an event here, DON'T! They could literally just close up overnight and not tell you. We had a cake organised, 20 people and they didn't even have the decency to inform their customers who had bookings. A simple courteous email would have been better than nothing!! Appalling demonstration of their lack of interest or care for their customers.

They literally were able to post on Friday morning about some new event or theme but couldn't communicate to their customers with bookings??? They were also literally open just a weekend or two back for another friends birthday.

Shout out to Dutch Courage next door who managed...

Under new management the website claims to be “Bringing back the venue you know and love with some fresh paint, added spicy extras and a touch of class!”

On the website there is a “$15 burgers or pizza lunch deal” that states Tuesday - Friday. We get there, we order it, the waiter tells us it doesn’t exist. I show him the website, he leaves, comes back and says we have to order a drink to “unlock it” or they’ll “make no money off it.” I told him that it doesn’t say that anywhere, and he said “Okay well I’m going to look whilst placing your order and if it does say that you have to buy drinks.” Okay, sure, whatever. He never comes back and one full hour later we see our burgers, with chips, get placed on the pass… Only he proceeds to tell the chef to remove the chips, and gives us a burger on it’s own each… For $15… Not only was he clearly being petty, but I’m failing to see how that’s a deal when with chips it’s $22? So you pay less, but you also get less? So not at all a deal? And since when was a side of chips worth $7?

Long story short, as someone who used to work at this exact venue years ago and experienced HUNDREDS of chaotic lunch-time rushes that went through to mid-afternoon non-stop (honestly on-par with a Saturday night dinner), I can honestly understand why there was only three other tables there today....

Oh dear. My partner and I popped in for a late night drink around 11pm on a Saturday. The bar claims to be open until 3am but when I tried to order a cocktail I was bluntly told that they had pretty much run out of..... everything. Considering that that place was close to empty I was bummed. Anyway, these things happen. The cocktails that we could end up getting were soooooooo bad. Mine couldn’t be garnished because they had run out of lychees, I watched as the bartender tried to stretch the juice out of the saddest old lychee at the bottom of the jar. These are not cheap cocktails. We were able to find a seat easily and we watched as the poor dj half heartedly mixed songs while scrolling Facebook. The sound system is terrrrrrrrrrible. It flicks between loud club levels, to crackles, then whisper quiet, to nothing. A group of people actually asked if the bar was closing because the music went suddenly quiet, the dj just shook his head and told them that that’s what the speakers do. It was BLEAK. This place used to be AMAZING, then we avoided it because the old owner was a terrible person, I was super excited to see it is under new management but oh dear, the place is falling apart. Figuratively and physically, falling apart. Such a shame. Will...
