Tried Bavarian sizzle for the first time. The pretzel was good especially with the butter - more butter would be amazing. The pork knuckle tasted nice but there’s a 30 min wait. Would recommend maybe pre ordering. The bratwurst was a little burnt on some areas for me, which gave it a bitter taste. Service was good initially when restaurant wasn’t full. But we asked for food to come out as soon as it’s done and the server must not have relayed to the kitchen. We waited for over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We also the ordered a cake at the end and at this point the restaurant was full with big groups. The waitress forgot our cake and we waited for 15-20 mins and I had to go ask her for it. Being quite fed up as it’s been a long afternoon of waiting around, I asked for the cake to be taken away. When I told my husband what cake we got, he told me that was not the cake he ordered. By then I was too frustrated to change it. Having young kids, I would probably not go back with them as there’s just too much waiting around. Hopefully the service improves.

Let me start this review this way: I have never eaten in a restaurant where the owner personally introduced herself to the guests!! What a nice surprise! What a nice gesture! I really hope this business does well in the future. The Schnitzel are huge!!! The value for money is amazing! You will leave the restaurant with a full belly that's for sure. As for the food: we ordered a Jaeger Schnitzel and Parmi. For the Parmi I would give it a 7/10. It was a little bit too salty for my liking and I couldn't really taste the sauce. I also found the crust a little bit to thick. However in saying that the chicken was delicious. So were the chips. Jaeger Schnitzel 8/10 Again a little bit too salty. I don't think it needs the additional salt on the crust. The sauce is salty enough to make up for it. As for the sauce it's nice. Some more mushrooms would be nice. Maybe a little bit more pepper but overall I can definitely recommend the Jaeger Schnitzel. Again I hope this business does well in the future. You deserve it. The Parmi was good

I'm writing this review in support of my local businesses and with the intent to provide some constructive feedback for areas of improvement! I ordered a ham and cheese croissant -fantastic. Waffles with apple cinnamon, maple walnuts and ice cream- Individual elements were fantastic but maple syrup would have been great (for my kids) and the 'Schnitty Burger'- I bought this based on the uber eats photo (as posted) even though I was dining in. The second photo is what I was presented. In my opinion, less is more in this case. I had to deal with a very dry schnitzel to actually get to the burger, and then the burger ingredients lacked what the image suggested. Happy with the service, very engaging with my children and everything done with a smile! Price was on the expensive side with three dishes and three drinks coming in at about $75! I'm here for the long run and am keen to try some bratwurst! Let's go Bavarian Sizzle!

I have been to the restaurant twice, both times for dinner. The first time was fine, there weren't many people in the restaurant so the service was efficient. The food was fine, nothing amazing, but nothing to complain about. The atmosphere is ok nothing special. They are using the same dƩcor that was used by the previous cafƩ that outfitted the place but had to close shop for unknown reasons. So there is no German vibe/aesthetic to the place. How other people are giving the atmosphere a 5 star rating is beyond me.

The second time I went, it was a bit more busy but not even half full, maybe at best 1/3 full. They had double the staff on and the service was poor. Our entrƩes came out 20 mins after our main meal, and I had to ask several times for the entrƩes. I had ordered extra gravy/sauce and mine never came, and my mates which was part of the meal, not an add-on, finally got to the table with 1/8th of his meal left to eat. Unknow to us, as we poured the gravy it was like wine, not thick. We never got told we had to stir it. When we poured more gravy out a bit later, it was thick on the bottom. So poor communication on their part. Maybe the gravy had been sitting in the kitchen for a while as it took over 15 mins and several reminders for us to get the gravy to the table.

We ordered a second round of drinks, I am pretty sure they just forgot, as 40 mins later, still no drinks and I had to ask two different waiters for the drinks, which then took another 10 mins. I was looking forward to the apple strudel as the owner talked up how great it was and that it was made fresh in store. It was a soggy overpriced lame excuse for a strudel, by far the worst I have had and possibly the worst dessert I have ever had at a restaurant.

One of the waiters came to our table once we had finished eating and it felt like she was pushing for a tip and asking was the service good, while winking. I wasn't sure if she was joking or she actually thought the service we received was good and we should reward her. Normally when I receive good service I will tip, but this was delusional.

Would I recommend this place? Well if spending $140 on two meals, some drinks and a awful dessert, with mediocre service sounds like a great night out, then give it a go. I won't be going back, as I can get a better experience and value at the German Club at the Gabba.

In response to the owners reply - Stating my review is driven by hate shows your level of delusion. There is no hostility in my review, nor can I understand how you have lost all hope. There is nothing hateful at all about my review, you just can't seem to handle an accurate assessment of an experience myself and 3 other patrons received at the restaurant. Instead of accepting the 100% accurate, factual, truthful feedback, you instead are calling me a liar.

Stating there was ZERO chance that this happened, shows either your complete ignorance or your inability to accept that the service on the night I was there was poor. In fact it was the worst I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Maybe your team had a bad night, which happens, but your unwillingness to acknowledge that your service is not great, tells me you lack the ability to listen, learn and improve. My review is 100% truthful and accurate, in fact I had 3 witnesses at the table with me.

Your excuse being that the place has only been open for 3 months is odd, as you had stated in conversation that between you and your husband you had many, many, many years of experience here and overseas in the food service industry. Speaking with a friend of mine whom was a also a Chef from Germany with 25 years in the industry, when I described the apple strudel that we had, it wasn't what she would align with what her standard is. Maybe your recipe differs from the norm, but I and my fellow companions on the night expected something better.

I do truthfully hope that your restaurant improves and grows and that your team can learn from mistakes so that future patrons receive a superb...
