Wedding celebration dinner with friends post overseas nuptials.
Hesitate to write as have been once prior to gold and will again for redemption via a smaller table and single dish order, however on this Saturday night for a table of 10 there were a few hiccups.
Great atmosphere seated close to the busy kitchen, received the usual nice greeting, drink orders and display/ overview of meat cuts and how to devour them. Spud tasting bite for starters, Burrata for entrée and cocktails/ wine up, no probs. Eight of us ordered the sharing plate after the sell from the server which I was 50-50 at best but went along for the ride. Eight of us ordered that (one couple and two threes).
First up, we were advised that side sauces weren’t able to be customised and that they are plated up by Chef. When we asked what Chef would be loading this evening, we were advised ‘no idea, usually has a Chimichurri’… The first couple to order the BOS Steak Sharing Plate, of which the lady is quite vocal, overheard this and sparked they had that option literally 20 secs earlier with the same server – caught out and awkers… he also assured on many occasion that the three covered version (i.e. 3 x $90 p.p.) was the way to go like the first couple but wasn’t forthcoming that the platter was the same size, when queried. Sure enough, when delivered, same portion size as the two covered – so less grub for more coin with cooking inconsistency, we couldn’t be tricked and quite an obvious display oddly but with the sides and probably enough to go around and them having missed the final two orders (one steak for the Bride and one fish for another lady) we weren’t going to fire up as we had slid enough. Hard to do IOHO for such a reputable restaurant and at only 3/ 4 capacity. Also, dessert was straight out of the freezer, near impossible to eat so steak knives were required - as though dessert wasn't even to be offered up that night.
A really enjoyable evening with friends but these, probably small issues elsewhere, did put a bit of a dampener on it for me – nothing mentioned by others but just didn’t sit well.
Two days later generic feedback requested via email and given per below asking how they could improve the experience which we felt we sort of knew they were off their game:
"3.5 stars. To make a better experience, bite size starter less oily and a little more caviar to be able to taste through the oiliness, server to be honest about offerings of sauces on BOS Board and p.p. experience – (i.e. same size offering for two -v- three covers etc.), remaining third piece of flesh cooked as ordered and similar to others on the Board, not forgetting to input two of the party's orders (comp'd but embarrassing & inconvenient), Server attentive to drinks post delivering list for seconds and to not need a steak knife to cut the black forest dessert ..."

‘Please allow me some time to look into this matter and regroup with my team’ - radio silence since, this Google Review written nearly two months later.
The Bride’s single steak serving was apparently orsm so my leg has been twisted to allow another...
Read moreBOS Brisbane is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of the city, and let me tell you, it's a culinary experience like no other!
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was blown away by the stunning venue design. The ambiance is sophisticated yet welcoming, with sleek modern decor that sets the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining experience. And oh, that view of the Story Bridge! It's a breathtaking backdrop that adds an extra touch of magic to every moment.
But what truly sets BOS apart is their impeccable service. From the moment I was seated, the staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring that my every need was met with a smile. My wine glass was never empty, thanks to the attentive and knowledgeable sommelier who expertly paired each course with the perfect wine.
Speaking of courses, let's talk about the food! The open kitchen adds an element of excitement as you watch the talented chefs work their magic. The oysters with limoncello foam were a delightful start to the meal – fresh, flavorful, and oh-so-elegant.
And then there's the foie gras and toast – a dish that is simply addictive. The rich, velvety texture of the foie gras paired perfectly with the crisp, buttery toast, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. And when paired with their signature Sassy Espresso Martini, it was pure perfection.
For the main course, I opted for the eye fillet, and let me tell you, it was cooked to absolute perfection. Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor – it was a true testament to the skill and expertise of the chefs.
But perhaps what impressed me the most was the warmth and friendliness of the floor staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary, and for that, I am truly grateful.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a dining experience that combines exquisite cuisine, stunning views, and impeccable service, look no further than BOS Brisbane. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreI’ve been seeing this restaurant a lot on my Instagram feed lately so I decided when I came to brisbane for my birthday that I had to go there.
When I arrived at the bottom of the building I was pretty excited, seeing the structure of the building an how big the escalator was with all the lights above it, was definitely a wow factor so my excitement grew bigger instantly.
The staff were lovely an wished me a happy birthday when I arrived because when I booked I put a note saying it was my birthday.
I started the night with the Sassy Espresso Mocktail, absolutely loved it have to say it’s the best I’ve had, then had the scallops as an entree followed by the main meal, wagyu rump with red wine jus an garlic beans on the side, the wagyu flavour was amazing cooked to perfection, the Gisell in Love mocktail was nice but didn’t have the wow I was expecting.
Dessert, I’m a little excited now cause I seen the photo of the crème brûlée on the Instagram page so I already knew what I was going to have, soon as the waiter came to me he asked if I’d like to look at the menu, before he could give it to me I said I already know what I’ll have, I seen one come out with a candle to another table for someone so I thought this is a little exciting an can’t wait for mine….. when I got mine the lady just said crème brûlée an placed it on my table, I looked at it an thought ok, no candle an doesn’t look like the picture I seen, no side garnish or anything, unfortunately the taste wasn’t anything better then how I make it at home.
Right now I’m pretty disappointed with how the last meal was presented an didn’t think it was worth $18, everything was rolling on a high for me an really happy finally after a pretty rotten day I had, the last dish had no birthday feeling in any way like other restaurants do that I was looking forward to seeing pics on their Instagram page also, I was there on my own an spent $161 only to feel upset at the end, especially with how much...
