I have only had a coffee here so my review is a small, brief view of what looked like a lovely, clean and busy cafe with a good, well-priced menu. I ordered a large flat white w/ two sugars. And that is what I got. But, as soon as I saw the barista hand-temping the milk as he heated it, I knew it'd be only warm. Hand-temping is where they hold the jug and thats their temperature gauge (human hands can tolerate 45-50° typically). I was able to drink the coffee in under ten minutes. There was no thermometer in the heating jug. Hand-temping is the worst. I paid $6 for a 5 minute experience. That's $72/hr. Look, I didnt want to melt my tongue out of my mouth either, but still—coffee is meant to be +63° for a reason. A coffee should last longer than it...
Read moreDaily Ritual was the perfect little spot for a treat on our girls' day trip in Brisbane. We needed a pick-me-up on our way to the museum and this place was just what we were looking for. We indulged in a jam donut and a brownie, and also grabbed a Chobani yogurt for a healthier option. I got my usual: a small flat white with an extra shot and skim milk, which was made perfectly. It's a great spot to grab a quick bite if you're walking from a central Brisbane station toward...
Read moreThe bacon and egg roll + reg coffee for $11 seems to be a pretty good deal in this part of the city. The bacon and egg roll has cheese and a nice bbq sauce, toasted well but not burnt and very enjoyable. The coffee (actually a hot chocolate) however could use some work. Not sure about their coffees obviously, but my hot choc was basically hot water and milk with no chocolate in it? Hope they do coffees better. The service was adequate, wouldn't say inviting or homely, and atmosphere was only really 3 stars because of the music to break up the quiet/clinical...
