We came to Govindas Brisbane after an amazing experience at Govindas Sunshine Coast and were a little underwhelmed. I am allergic to peanuts, corriander and fenugreek and shared this with our server who couldn't tell me which of the options had these ingredients in them, I had to then ask him if he could find out for me. He called another store and asked and I was given a small portion after wanting to order a feast option. When we went to the Sunshine coast restaurant our server was very bubbly and more than happy to help, he was knowledgeable and very welcoming we were overwhelmed at his kindness, knowledge, generosity and hospitality. I was offered more food options and he even gave us extra food to take away. Here in Brisbane the experience was lack lustre and I was only offered the dhal, rice, salad and poppadoms. On the Sunshine coast I had many more options. I was also disappointed in the cleanliness of the Brisbane restaurant. After our meal I did feel sick so there may have been some cross contamination of ingredients. My favorite part of the meal was the salad dressing. I was glad there was a lemon and ginger drink that helped me not to feel...

I love this restaurant! Govindas is conveniently nestled in the heart of Brisbane and is perfect for any meal of the day (new breakfast menu!) whether it be a quick take-away, catch ups with friends or a dine in experience with family. The food is made fresh daily and is all vegetarian with plenty of vegan options making for a very colourful plate! I guarantee you won’t find a tastier meal at such an affordable price in the city!

Govindas also hosts a meditation session on Sunday afternoons which is a must-experience especially with an all-you-can-eat meal for only $8 (student discounts for $5). Additionally the restaurant is non-profit with all proceeds going to feed the needy.

I’d recommend this restaurant to everyone be they young or old, businessman or student, healthy eater or even if you’re after a lil indulgence! I am really proud to support Govindas and will continue to do so for all that they provide – the friendly staff, the delicious food, the charitable business model and the sincere and humble effort by all who work there to serve the greater Brisbane community. I can’t rate this restaurant...

I haven't been to Govinda's for years & I was surprised how much the prices have gone up. The feast meal with drink & dessert is now $26.50, and the drink is pre-poured instead of helping yourself. The halva in the feast meal is placed on a section of the tray & just has a small squiggle of custard on top, instead of sitting in a dish of custard - this makes it a bit dry & much less enjoyable than I remember. The rest of the meal was absolutely delicious, however, and considering the current state of prices elsewhere, it's still fair value. My only complaints are the halva not having enough custard & the chanting sound track was a bit loud today. I've considered bringing my colleagues here, but I think the sound would make talking a bit difficult, and I also wonder if it might be a bit intrusive for people of other religions? It might not be that loud every day. I had the supreme feast meal (pictured), but I asked for an extra kofta - the standard...
