I really enjoy 'The Vegan' bagel - it's so nice! Also, any bagel with cream cheese on it is delicious. However, the reason for the 3 stars is because I mostly order a bagel with hummus and it's quite shameful how much they put on. It's also very inconsistent, sometimes it's great and the right amount (so it's not dry) and other times it's like a slither of hummus. I'm sure if I asked them to take a bite, they would agree and notice the amount they put on is suboptimal. I understand the bagels are cheap ($4.50 for the hummus bagel), if price is the issue ( ie. expensive hummus) then perhaps rectify the price by 50 cents (or so) so you can afford to consistently put a reasonable amount of hummus...

If you find yourself up the Roma Street end of the city and you're looking for a reasonably priced meal, drop into The Bagel Boys. The menu has a number of options which can be combined with a range of bagel types. I can't go past the jalapeño bagel, but they have lots of others such as garlic, poppy seed, onion and others.

Each bagel is prepared on-site so don't expect grab-and-go. We've been a few times and it's been busy every time so keep that in mind if you have a time limit.

You can also buy individual bagels or by the half dozen so you can have...

The Bagel Boys in Brisbane is a gem for bagel lovers, especially if you’re after vegetarian options. Their bagels are fresh, with a perfect balance of chewiness and crispness. The veggie fillings are generous, flavourful, and well thought out, not just an afterthought. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, making it a great spot for a quick bite or a low-key lunch. Service is friendly, though it can get busy at peak times. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving something satisfying...

Had a Haloumi and Bacon on a Jalapeno Bagel from this shop this morning. It was delicious!! Admittedly, haven't been here in a while but was so glad when Bagel Boys was recommended to me. The shop doesn't have space for seating, which is a shame, so I took my Bagel to King George Square and ate it there. Other than that, the Bagel itself was soft and tasty, you could see and taste the jalapeno, the fillings were hot, generous and tasty. Just remember to grab a napkin! If you get a big Bagel, you'll need it!

So this was a recommendation for me, so I thought I would give it a try as I love bagels. I went with the Chipotle chicken bagel on a poppy seed bagel and a large long black. The bagel was fresh and tasty and I really liked the slight spiciness of the chorizo, so definitely would recommend this one. The coffee on the other hand was terrible, extremely bitter and flavourless. So, grab a bagel here and maybe go elsewhere for a coffee as there are heaps of cafe options in the area.
