I had a very disappointing experience with Guzman y Gomez last night when I ordered my dinner through Uber Eats. First of all I waited about half an hour for my food to arrive because the Uber driver was dropping off another order. Then when the driver dropped it off the order it was the incorrect order. I told the Uber driver and he told me that he showed the staff at the restaurant my order, and they gave him gave him the wrong bag? I then called the restaurant about what happened and they told me my order was still at there... I got no apology about the mix up and I was so angry that this point, so why would I want to drive to the store to pick up food that has been sitting there for over 45 mins? I asked the staff member if I could get a new order made fresh and I will order it again through Uber Eats. She told me that she could do this for me and that they will prepare it as soon as they can so that i get my order quickly as it was 9:00pm. I went ahead and re-ordered my food with some alterations to my old order, but when I received my order 20 mins later I noticed that it was my older order and the food was stone cold and soggy. I am not happy with the service that Guzman y Gomez has shown and I will be filing a formal complaint to the Manager of the store today. It is disgusting that I received a cold meal and when I specifically called up to tell the staff what happened and they did nothing to fix it! I am not recommending any of my friends and family to visit this branch as my experience was appalling, the customers experience should be the most important to food franchises as popular as Guzman y Gomez. I am wanting a full refund for the cold meal I received and also for the second order I made which I never got delivered. I hope this review gets out to people in the public so ti doesn't happen again, because no-one should ever have to go through something like this especially when I used to have a high expectation and enjoyed going to this restaurant, now I'm not too sure . Read moreI had food delivered from GYG Buranda via Uber Eats, and I don't think I can come up with a single positive aspect of my experience. All of the food was cold, soggy and verging on inedible.
Despite ordering three drinks, I only received two. Sure, I was able to get a refund through Uber Eats for the missing item, but the lack of attention to detail on the behalf of the restaurant is just poor service and needs to be addressed.
The two drinks that did arrive were not at all cold. A warm drink is not a pleasant experience unless it's coffee. This was coke, not coffee. It's not good enough. The bottles had also evidently been dropped or poorly handled given the misshapen nature of them on arrival. This has happened before with drinks received from this particular store, and it's not on.
The guacamole was not prepared properly. A good guacamole should have a relatively lump-free smooth consistency. This was anything but. At one point, I bit into a taco and all I got was a massive clump of avocado. This was not pleasant, and I'm disgusted.
The staff at that store clearly need more training and attention to detail. Maybe I'm the fool for giving this store another chance, given the poor quality I've experienced in the past. Have been back a couple of times since. Biggest thing I find that is confusing is a variance of portion sizes. I got a burrito bowl with extra meat and a couple of other things added, first time i got it, it was so tiny I wondered if something was forgotten off it, second time it was massive, 3rd time it was smaller than the second and first.
Final review. Have had breakfast here a couple of times. The coffee is way too hot, even when you don't chose the extra hot.
Biggest thing that's disappointing is sometimes you go in with an order and the staff there ignore you. There were 5 people working this morning, there was 4 people standing and waiting and we all stood there for about 3 minutes before someone gave some indication they were serving. The owners are obvious as they are welcoming, but the rest of the staff do not say hello and are not openly friendly.
Don't take the order time as when you will get it. Last order said ready by 717am, wasn't ready until 732am.
