Just disgusting service all the way. Don’t go here. It was 9:30pm on a Wednesday night and I was out busy all day finally had some time for a meal so I thought I’d quickly drop in Taco Bell on the way home. Walked in since the drive through went on for miles.
First off the cashier was very unprofessional, it felt like she was reading off a script and not really listening to my order, repeating questions I already answered. So I got my buzzer and sat there waiting for 20+mins. I was patient because I could see lots of people were there and didn’t think to ask about my order.
But by 9:50pm I knew something was definitely up since everyone else who ordered around the same time as me had already left ages ago. My groceries in the car were rotting. So I asked what was happening with my order to one of the staff.
She checked the orders with another staff and they scrolled through a lot of orders to the bottom of the list, saw my number and laughed at the fact they missed that order, came over and said they had no rice left for the only burrito I ordered. You call this fast food?
They asked if I would like anything to replace the rice and I replied what is the replacement? The staff had to ask another member shouting what’s the replacement and she replied with ‘lettuce’, as if that wasn’t in my burrito in the first place. I was pretty mad but remained calm on the outside.
I also asked was there rice 20 mins earlier? They replied yes. Imagine how infuriating that would have been to hear, how this even possible on a Wednesday night. They asked if I wanted to change my order to a different type of burrito that was slightly cheaper.
I asked is there any replacement for waiting at this hour? Chips or something like that? They said they can give me chips. But that’s not what I really wanted. I wanted my time back but that is something that I could never get back in my life. No one could buy back time.
The burrito they changed to was $1 less than the original one I paid for. Literally half a minute after I got up to ask about my order my order was finally ready. This must be what the usual wait time would have been like for other customers but I never had a chance to experience it myself unfortunately.
I got my order and the staff said we added churros in aswell and was about to leave when I asked what about my $1? The girl seemed bewildered first and then realised I had my order changed. She called a manager looking guy over and told him the situation in which he replied ‘but we do have rice.’ I overheard and honestly was speechless.
Then after the confusion he said he could process giving me the $1. What is it to lose $1 to this humongous franchise that is Taco Bell when they can’t even adequately train their staff? Really sad that I had to be the chosen one to have such a terrible experience but after trying the food that was added extra to my order, my appetite had pretty much gone by that point and hanger was left into emptiness.
Plus the chips had literally no flavour. I really also shouldn’t be eating so much calories at this hour like the completely sugar covered churros. I just simply wanted a simple meal on my way home which turned into a troublesome 1/2hr stop with disappointment in the reputation of the famous brand that is Taco Bell.
Not even worth the hype, at least GYG tastes amazing and hire ACTUAL Mexicans. Not a single worker was even close to Mexican and the food just does the culture complete disgrace. Really just like the rep they have in America, poor.
I hope I can put off as many people into not falling into the popularity trap, this restaurant isn’t worth your precious time as they have taken away from mine. I feel the need to use my time now to write this negative review so other people don’t have to experience this and...

I should have known that this place would turn out to be a disaster from the appalling design of the drive-though alone. I have a tiny micro-car, a Suzuki Alto, and although it can 'turn on a dime' there is no way of pulling up to the pay window from the order point without advancing and reversing several times. I was so shocked, I told the young woman who took my money that it was the worst drive through I've ever encountered. She laughed and agreed that no car could pull up to the window and that it was a running joke.
I enjoy the food at other take away restaurants that serve burritos and tacos so I decided to pick up a burrito and two tacos here this afternoon. I ordered one burrito with beef and two hard shell tacos with pork. I really like the tacos at rival GYG and can get the beef mince ones for $3 each so I was surprised to see that they charged me $7.95 for two tacos at Taco Bell Annerley.
The tacos were appalling. They were poorly made and poorly packed for sale. The filling was so loose in the shell that it had already fallen out of both tacos before I unwrapped them. I opened the paper wrap to discover all these components separated and loose: broken bits of corn shell, iceberg lettuce, unripe tomato, cheese that tasted like cheddar and wait... is that....raw chicken? I did a double take. Why was there raw chicken on my tacos when I had ordered pork? I inspected it again and figured out that it really was pork (not chicken) but they hadn't cooked it. That's why it was glossy translucent pink. Everything was cold, including the uncooked pork.
Since I couldn't eat the tacos I turned to the burrito. It was certainly better because at least the meat was cooked. But it was still well below my basic expectations. It was cold too and I was munching through a pile of cold, dry bread. Fold after fold after fold of flatbread. There was a little skimpy bit of filling tucked far away, deep inside. It was a shame because the beef mince was tasty and well seasoned although it was far too sloppy in texture and there was so little filling that I felt like I was eating folded dry tortilla for nearly every mouthful.
I will never order this food again. And I will report Taco Bell to the food safety authorities at Brisbane City Council for serving me cold, uncooked pork. I predict this establishment will go out of business very soon. And frankly, unless they make major changes, they deserve to fold. In future, I'll be sticking to El Torito at West End and the fast food chains Zambrero and Guzman Y Gomez.
I left this place feeling absolute disgust that I paid around $15.80 to eat a cold folded tortilla with barely a smear of filling and to throw two sloppy exploded raw pork tacos away...
Read moreDecided to go to Taco Bell on Sunday after driving by for the past few weeks and give it a go with the family in tow! Due to the new nature of the business in Australia it was a very busy morning and there was a line outside the restaurant but it was moving fairly well so no issues there.
Having eaten at the USA stores many times over my visits there, the Australian set up was a much nicer looking restaurant giving a quality feel to the establishment. In the USA Taco Bell is really a "value" Mexican Meal as they are surrounded by truly genuine Mexican restaurants giving them a run for their money.
The Aussie store felt good when you walked in and the menu choices are limited compared to the USA but offer enough variety as a fast food outlet needing fast turn around. It is simple, choose the Taco/Burrito you want, choose your meat (Beef, Chicken or Pork) and then your heat level. The food comes out in a very reasonable time considering how busy they are at the moment.
The food was very good and well priced when you compare to a Burger Joint, mostly around $10 and you get a Burrito or Double Taco served with Chips and refillable drink of your choice. If you have the need you can upsize the drink and chips, but the normal meal is ample. It was good quality food, all members of the group enjoyed the meals. All tasted very fresh and not processed, the chips were well seasoned.
The surprise is that Taco Bell is licenced so you can grab a Corona or Cider for $6, that is pretty fair considering you pay over $10 for a Corona at a restaurant elsewhere. Frozen Margarita on tap also...Friday night has happy hours with a beer and taco for $5.
A lady named Tamika was running around checking on waiting customers to make sure they were okay in line, she also handed out menus so you could make your choices early, and even handed out umbrellas as it was raining that day. She checked with customers who had their meals to make sure everything was right. Tamika represented Taco Bell fabulously, if all staff could be that customer focused Taco Bell will do well here. We will eat here again and look forward to more...
