I am all for supporting local businesses, we were visiting Brisbane and we all loooove fried chicken. I mean who doesn't? We drove past KFC and smelt the goodness. I thought " why not go to a local business who specializes in fried chicken? I mean we are in Brisbane after all.
The interior and exterior of the place looks really groovy and inviting, the gentleman running everything by the looks of it was nice but looked obviously stressed. The one guy took orders and cooked order by order. which meant after an amazing 50 minute wait for sides we finally got our food and boy, it looked amazing. Sadly that's all that was appetizing about it. The buttermilk Chicken Wings were covered in feathers that weren't properly plucked and tasteless batter, the chips were dry and covered in a spice that we wouldn't have asked for if it was offered, Dorito coated popcorn chicken was dry but my partners burger seemed great! Although was very obvious it had been made and had been sitting for a while.
We told the waitress who was sipping on wine behind the desk that there were feathers in our food. She asked if we would like a fresh batch but we happily declined. No sorry, no offer of refund, just walked away. To think we had to find a park and walk through a town full of screaming people trying to navigate our way to this place for that.....

Read moreOk so I may have only had under 10 chicken burgers so far as I prefer beef but wow the buffalo crispy burger I had here is the best chicken burger I have eaten to date.
If you love buffalo sauce then this burger is for you. Sauce is delicious with a good zing to it. Pickles very strong and cut through the sauce nicely. Bun was small compared to other places but still tasty. Now the chicken itself was exceptional, crunchy coating but still juicey on the inside. Wasn't too oily however eating wings alongside the burger it did accumulate by the end and leaves you feeling a bit greasy (the only criticism I could find).
The wings were solid, up there with any of the other good wing joints in Brissie. I do need to mention the chips though. Little bit rustic with this red seasoning I couldn't get enough of. The chipotle mayo was smokey and paired with the chips was sensational. I'd go back...
Read moreLike a hungry bunny looking for Easter eggs, I was lucky enough to find this joint still serving late take away on Good Friday night. They ran out of the Famous Frank's Wings, so i tried the two piece buttermilk with slaw, and a Buffalo Fried Cauliflower to go along. The Nam Chim dipping sauce that comes with the Two Piece Buttermilk complements the slaw and the chicken with perfection. The beautifully sweet and herby flavour of the sauce was taken to the next level by a mild spiciness, giving the otherwise sparingly seasoned crunchy slaw the right kick. Bite into the thigh pieces, you will be greeted with a crispy batter and skin, followed by a tender flesh. Don't forget the sauce because I can't emphasise enough on how amazing that is. If you order the Buffalo Fried Cauliflower, I recommend you add on a blue...
