Dined at MYLK+KO today for brunch. We unfortunately had a negative experience and are hoping this presents an opportunity for improvement. We ordered two eggs your way with a piece of banana bread. I love banana bread, especially cafes that bake their own and have a unqiue spin. I ordered a piece of fluffy looking home-made bread only to find it had the texture of old play dough, and did not taste like bananas at all. It was chewy but not in a pleasant way, and maybe some ingredients were accidentally left out... I would like to think it was a mistake. I absolutely love banana bread and this, was bad. My friend started to laugh when he took a bite and said was not good. We did get a chuckle from the experience, but I have never had to spit food out in a napkin before, it was that inedible. I normally would not make a fuss and just move on and try another cafe next time and prefer not to leave a negative review, however aside from the bread the woman working there was horribly rude and made the overall dining experience uncomfortable. My friend and I were quiet and polite entering, we simply grabbed two menus and found a table. The lady saw us, did not say hi, ask how we were or if we needed anything. After we sat down she came to our table to set out water and the banana bread, and shoved them on the table in front of us in an aggressive manner, and stormed off. We had absolutely no previous interaction with her and we both felt the hostility. I said hello to her when she approached our table but she did not make eye contact or acknowledge we even existed. The cafe was not busy, we were pleasant to her, so there was absolutely no warrant to treat people like that. The male working at the counter was very pleasant, and friendly, but how we were treated by the female staff member was not okay. The eggs on toast were just okay, but the toast was very thin and basic unlike the photos which shows a thicker large piece of toast. The cafe charges 8 dollars for two scrambled eggs, and places the eggs on top of the toast and two small cold pieces of butter on the side, so you have to scrape everything off and try to apply cold hard butter to soggy egg bread. It was very expensive for what you get in quality of food...
Read moreI’ve been to Mylk and Co twice now - once to eat in and once for a takeaway coffee this morning. When I dined in, the food quality was ok but I found it overpriced for the serving size of my pancakes - there were not enough toppings for all of the pancakes. I had some leftover dry pancakes without any toppings to go with them. I didn’t feel strongly enough to write a review though. However, this morning, I really couldn’t believe the service or price. I was charged $7.70 for a dirty chai on oat milk which is absolutely ridiculous. I order this coffee everywhere I go and it’s usually between $5-$6. I wish I cancelled the order when I heard the price. However, even worse was the service. I ordered the coffee when no one was waiting and the waitress started making the coffee but then one of the seated customers decided to order so the staff member left my coffee and took the order which turned out to be a very long complicated order with lots of questions asked. It would have been quicker to just spend the one minute to finish my coffee when mine was takeaway. Anyway, the other customer who was dining in then also decided to order (there were literally only 2 tables sitting down to dine in at the time) and to my disbelief, the waitress also took this order which was even longer and more complicated than the previous. All I wanted was one takeaway coffee and at this point, I’d been standing there 10 minutes and the staff member just had my half-finished coffee sitting there this whole time. When the only 2 dine-in customers finally finished ordering, the waitress returned to making my coffee and rushed it. It was of extremely poor quality given it was done half before and then half 10 minutes later when I was the only takeaway customer! Plus I paid $7.70 for it. I’ll never be back after this…...
Read moreVery expensive for ordinary food. ($7 for an almond chai) Disgusting and appalling behavior from the owner which shows no regards towards regular customers. Regular customers are precious to businesses, especially during this uncertain time we are living. She should be ashamed of herself for disrespecting and discriminating customers. I have never experienced such a rude and aggressive conduct before. I will never go back and support this business after the treatment I received. She also told me she’s the owner therefore she can speak and do however she wants. Shocking and toxic behavior. You should seriously learn how to treat people in general, but especially regular customers. You own a business, learn some basic manners and stop this angry and abusive attitude.
Response to owner:
Not really sure what you are actually referring to as I don’t own a scooter and I have always showed my vaccination digital certificate. It’s actually pretty pathetic the fact that you have to make up deflecting lies. I have never insulted anyone as you mentioned. I think you must be getting confused with someone else you had upset. After I have gone to other cafes I have realized your food is beyond average and incredibly expensive compared to what else is around. In addition to this, the other cafes value their customers. Good luck with your business...
