Overall I think the food is good but not deserving of crazy high prices. Decided to visit because of Hosukawa San, but the magic of their old Hamilton place is not here.

We got our dishes VERY quickly despite how busy it was. Like 10-15 minutes, it was a bit unsettling. I think they would do better taking more effort with the presentation instead of going so fast.

The sushi ingredients are fresh, but the presentation and preparation were quite poor. Our sushi was sticking together and falling apart. It was honestly amateurish; worse than what you'd find at stall in a shopping center.

The cod fish was pretty nice texture, but far too salty, otherwise alright.

The tempura was the quite poor, tasting a bit off, soggy and having not much quality.

It's incredibly sad that Hosukawa in Hamilton has changed. It was my favourite restaurant when Hosukawa San...

We visited on a Friday night; the place was hopping :) Every table full, including the large table behind us with lots of happy Japanese customers (a good sign). We ate California rolls, veg. gyoza, grilled eggplant, tsukune (chicken meatballs) and veg. tempura. We drank soft drinks, tho there are various alcoholic drinks available, and they have BYO wine. Service was prompt and friendly, even tho they were very busy. I enjoyed the rolls - they were very large, fresh, tasty and a good price. Hubby enjoyed the eggplant tho I found it very (too) sweet and mushy - just not my thing. Tsukune were tasty too if a tiny bit dry. Loved the tempura - crispy outside, crunchy veg. Gyoza were nice and crispy. Both of us enjoyed our meal; and plenty of other dishes to try next time. Seating inside and out; overhead heating kept us warm in our wee corner. (Loved the...

The experienced today was the most expensive meal I ever had, if I am to Include the quality and quantity factors.

Don’t have your expectations high and have your pockets full. This is a glorified corner takeaway charging ultra-fine dining prices for their plates.

The portions are small. For example, the salmon teriyaki at 40 dólares for not even 150grs is appalling. The flavors were also just not there.

The tempura, as others already comment, is soggy, not seasoned, thick, and tastes just very poor.

The prawn gyoza was damped in oil and tasted like the frozen ones from the supermarket.

The sushi has no flavor on the rice, and the roll is packed and cold. I could. Get better sushi at any sushi chain.

Overall a massively overpriced restaurant for food of quality and quantity. We left and did not even get the desserts for the kids...

A nicely positioned restaurant with outside tables and dim lighting inside. The menu has nothing you've never had before, but what's there is a fair selection. Prices are higher than average, and the serving sizes are moderate at best. The flavours varied. While the sashimi was best with dressing, the undressed sashimi was somewhat plain. Fresh, but plain. The most interesting taste I found, and I don't mean this with disrespect, was the house dressing on the garden salad. Here, I could taste that a chef had designed a flavour I've never experienced, and it was a sophisticated taste. Well done. I would thank the wait staff for finding a table for me at no notice. And the wait staff who tended to me was very friendly and helpful. So I thank the restaurant for this great service.
