Brisbane's best banh mi! After lots of research, we've decided that this really is the place to eat Brisbane's best banh mi. The delicious crispy roll, filled with lashings of freshly roasted pork, crunchy crackling, pickled carrot, salad, pate, home made mayonnaise and chilli to taste is unbeatable. Diana and her staff feed the hungry lunchtime workers with love and pride and you get change from $10 too!!
Apr 18, 2017 Vietnamese Street Food at its Best The food here is amazing – we were very impressed with everything we ordered and we've eaten a lot of Vietnamese food!! The broth in the beef pho was fragrant and tasty with nice medium rare slices of beef, just the right amount of noodles and vegetables. The banh mi was delicious with a beautiful crispy baguette, tasty mayonnaise and pate, generous serving of crunchy roast pork, and full of carrot, cucumber, coriander, and fresh hot chilli (optional). The pork and prawn spring rolls were good too. Even though the staff were run off their feet catering to the busy office lunch crowd, our food came out extremely quickly. I think that this place is a serious contender for Brisbane's...
Read moreI would say it's a shame more people don't know about this place, but they're so busy every single week day throughout the lunch period I'm not sure they'd fit any more people in! It's always pumping, but somehow you never wait more than 2 minutes for your food - whether it's eat in or take away. The rice paper rolls are fantastic - not skimpy at all with the ingredients, they're packed and not only with the vermicelli noodles like some places. The chicken curry is SO delicious, loads of flavour and lots of tasty chunks of chicken. Their banh mi is the BEST I've had out of all the Vietnamese places in the Fortitude Valley area (they make their own pate). Their vermicelli noodle salad is one of my favourite choices, so crammed with the extras rather than only noodles, lots of your chosen meat, sprouts, lettuce and all the herbs - YUM. I just wish they were open on...
Read morePorkees was such a great Bahn Mi so when I was driving past today I thought I would stop in. Unfortunately they are just not what they used to be. The roast pork Bahn Mi used to be so good with great amounts of hot fillings and one of the best in Brisbane. Like many of the recent reviews unfortunately I would say this is no longer the case. The roll was crunchy and delicious but most of the fillings apart from the carrot were non existent. roast pork and crackling is now cold and is simply nowhere near as good particularly given they are now in the upper price bracket for a Bahn Mi.
Service was good and was ready very quickly but unfortunately at the cost of quality. ...
