Sparrow & Finch Espresso — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I've had the salads here for lunch many times and mostly enjoyed them, but I like to move around other places to access more variety. But the service is always good and it's a good venue for after work drinks on a Friday, sitting outside in Gresham Laneway, in the warmer months. The music is good but can be a bit loud at times, depending on your spot, meaning you and your colleagues have to constantly shout to have a conversation, which is tiring after working all week and limits conversation. If the music volume and style was more background than dominating, then I'd definitely rate this place higher. People want to talk over drinks and given it's not a dance venue, the music doesn't need to be so loud. I actually have to update this. The last two times I've been the staff have been really abrupt and the food has sucked. I ordered a bacon and egg wrap and it was placed in the toaster for exactly five seconds before being handed to me cold with a "see ya". My coffee, the shot was poured by a girl who then decided to go and chat to her mates on the other side of the counter, leaving me standing there with my cold bacon wrap while they chatted and finally someone handed me my cold coffee too and heading over to the gossip huddle before I could say anything. Out of all of the lunch spots in Brisbane CBD (i have eaten at most of them) Sparrow & Finch is by far THE best cafe I have been to in all aspects... in terms of the quality of fresh food, the variety of options (that are also healthy and still taste good) as well as the level of service; is incredible. The staff are always friendly and upbeat ... plus they always play the best music! There's a lovely young girl who has served me on several occasions called Belle, who always makes sure my order is right and leaves me with a smile on my face & feeling very positive after every time I go there which is good :) I think they have a great culture there and all in all, this is by far the best cafe I've been to in Brisbane. They're definitely doing something right...
