Gresham Bar, situated in Brisbane’s CBD, radiates sophistication with its exceptional drinks and historical charm. Despite facing parking challenges and chip quality concerns, the overall Gresham experience is undoubtedly worth it. The dimly lit, plush interior effortlessly transports patrons to an era of elegance. The cocktail menu, a symphony of creativity, serves as a testament to the mixologists’ mastery, while an array of beers and wines caters to diverse preferences.

However, even with the bar’s strengths, there are aspects that could use improvement. The chips, sourced from supermarket packs, unfortunately fall short, lacking the freshness and flavor expected from a venue of Gresham’s caliber. Similarly, the cheese platter, though adequate, could benefit from a more curated selection. Stale crackers and underripe fruit slightly detract from the overall experience.

Despite these minor shortcomings, Gresham remains a premier destination for those seeking an exceptional drinking experience in Brisbane. The combination of impeccable service, captivating ambiance, and unparalleled drink quality solidifies its status as a hidden gem. The bar’s late-night opening hours make it perfect for pre-game drinks or a night out with friends. Moreover, the rich history adds a unique charm to the overall experience, making Gresham a must-visit for any discerning drinker.

It’s worth noting that some concerns have been raised about the chip quality at Gresham Bar. Reviews highlight that the chips, served cold and soggy from supermarket packs, might not meet expectations. Therefore, it’s advisable to consider other menu options for a more satisfying dining experience at...

Over the weekend, my partner and I eloped at the Brisbane Registry Office, then had the pleasure of stopping in at the Gresham Bar after our nuptials for celebratory cocktails. We had arranged the visit ahead of time with the managers, as we would be accompanied by our photographer friend, and we're so glad we incorporated the Gresham into our special day. It wasn't our first visit and it won't be our last. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even going so far as to clear up a comfortable space for us to sit in their back room, and offering us some choices with music. It was greatly appreciated. I ordered the Strawberry Hills cocktail and my husband had the Grandchester Mainline. Both drinks were unreal; the mixologists at Gresham are true masters of their craft. The space itself is also gorgeous. I highly recommend visiting during their quieter hours if you can, such as during the early evening on a Saturday, as you can really soak in the atmosphere and notice all the small details scattered about the venue. It feels as if you're stepping back in time to a more glamorous era. I will always fondly remember the peaceful moment my husband and I got to share over drinks at the Gresham during an otherwise overwhelming day. I look forward to returning to the bar whenever we're...

I’ve been a customer of this establishment since its opening and it has always held a special place for me until a recent disappointing experience.

While I was seated at the bar, a bartender accidentally splashed a cocktail along with ice onto me during drink preparation. My hair, clothing, bag and the table in front of me became noticeably wet as a result.

What surprised me most was the way the situation was handled. Despite the incident occurring directly in front of three staff members behind the bar, no one acknowledged what had happened or offered an assist. Instead, I observed one of the staff members asking other customers, seated further from the spill, whether they were okay - while no attention was paid to me.

I was left to clean myself and my belongings without any assistance or even a basic acknowledgment of the situation.

This was a profoundly disappointing experience and it's very sad to see such a lapse in customer care from a place I've...

Nice cocktail bar with a classy yet casual vibe located in the heart of the CBD. Good, fast and friendly service, too. Available seating both inside and outside, but outdoor seating is not covered if raining. Nice cocktails but limited food options; basically just some toasties and chips from what I recall. Loses a star because they impose a surcharge on card transactions. Almost everyone today pays with card, so they should just do what all the other venues are starting to do and set a proper, honest and transparent menu price that includes the assumed card payment processing costs and do away with all the silly back-end surcharges, similar to what every business already does with GST. They could always choose instead to offer a discount to the few customers who still pay with cash.

My first time visiting The Gresham was fantastic. Classy and traditional vintage bar style. My bar tender, Tom has a great knowledge of the Bourbons on offer and with over 100 available thats impressive. He was very attentive while making drinks and managing staff and customer's with ease. He was happy to offer some very nice recommendations. There's a great range of lower to mid range price offerings as well as some for the more adventurous. Specialist Bourbon bars rare and I'm very happy to have found this one. With what looks like 200 plus scotches, as well as rum, gin, vodka and others as well as a good selection of cocktails, there are pleanty of reasons to return. I will return with friends and highly recommend the experience to others. Thanks for a great night.
