Had a lovely dinner with me and my wife as our first time out in a long time. Ordered fish cakes and A sashimi entree which were amazing, including a combination of tastes we'd never had before but was brilliant and had the duck curry and the choochee snapper for Mains, which were delicious. We've been trying to find a decent choochee curry after trying it at a different restaurant years ago and I think we found it
The only letdown was there was one customer who was very rude to the high school-aged wait staff. She was being unreasonable, loud-mouthed and abusive while going back to her table and giggling about the trouble she was causing. I wish they could keep customers like her out. At one point they opened a bottle of champagne and let the cork fly around the room without caring about any of the other patrons and didn't even bother to pick up the cork. The poor wait staff were very patient with them.
Other than that give these guys a try. They're amazing.
And a big thank you to Jas and Fliss... our waitresses...
Read moreTruly the worst restaurant we’ve ever eaten at. Service and food appalling. We had a booking for. 6:30 pm and of all the entrees offered, of the very few non-seafood entrees, only one of the five was available. One of our party has a seafood allergy so we had to order double of the only non-seafood entree available. The JFK chicken was over cooked, tasteless and served with an even more tasteless satay sauce. We had a very long wait to receive the entree. We waited even longer for the mains and watched several tables, which had arrived after us, get their mains long before us. Again, these mains were mediocre to say the least. The beef in the Beef Penang was more like beef jerky. The rice was overcooked, dry and clumpy. It was like it was scraped off the bottom of the rice pot. On paying, when asked how we had found the meal, my husband advised we would not be back. No apology...
Read moreWe had the most wonderful time at Thai Boi. We made the mistake of booking at the East Brisbane Restaurant but nothing was too much trouble for the Wynnum team. There were nine of us and they immediately made us feel welcome.
Big smiles and much happiness abounds among the service team. We were immediately made to feel welcome. The interior has a warmth and charm that is very nostalgic, however the menu is all fresh, bright and full of fun flavours. Lots of cute decor touches as well. Attention to detail is excellent in all the choices from the cutlery and flatware to the cute uniforms and incredible food.
We were only eating entrees as we made our way way down Bay Terrace on a moveable feast and the little plates did not disappoint. You have to have the JFC chicken (peanut sauce - incredibly delicious) and...
