I have been coming to the Green Edge for 5+ years on a regular basis.
I have always liked their food although it’s a little overpriced compared to other vegan places.
It’s where I take my Mum when she visits from interstate and I also go with my husband some weekends. I have also introduced the place to some of my friends.
The staff have always been really nice and helpful however the owner (I’m assuming? The blonde lady) is very… unpredictable. Sometimes you’ll go to the counter and she will be in a very chirpy and chatty mood and other times she comes off as a bit of a grump.
Today was the last straw when asked if they were still doing food service and she got right in my husbands face / personal space and got really aggressive about their kitchens closing time.
We kept saying that it was all good and that we were just trying our chances but she kept coming at us which was a shock and genuinely upsetting.
We thought it might be a too late but still thought we would ask just in case and were just going to grab some sausage rolls and cheesecake if that was the case.
We left there feeling stunned and sad that after so many years of enjoying their food that’s the end of...
Read moreI should have known but I let me naivity get to me. I mean they had clues everywhere, they weren't even hidden. Yet I ordered a Cheese Steak Sub not knowing the place was a Vegan Restaurant. With the Netflix show Game Changers putting the Vegan diet fresh in people's minds and once again sparking the debate on whether it's the healthy alternative, I became very curious once I figured out that my steak wasn't steak, and that cheese sauce wasn't cheese. But to be honest I'm far too uneducated in the field of nutrition to comment on the Vegan diet. When I go to a restaurant and eat out I don't really pay too much attention to the nutritional value or whether my food has come from a sustainable source (Though perhaps I need to). I care more about how my food taste, and not what is in it (or in this case not in it). There was a bit of wait on the food but when it got to the table, it was delicious. My only gripe other than the wait was that I wish that they would name their food what it is. Because my Cheese Steak although delicious was not cheese and was not steak. Call it for what it is and be proud that you can make something delicious made out of soy or...
Read moreI absolutely love these guys! It’s my fave cafe in Brisbane for vegan food! Their aero frappe is to die for! It’s a little bit pricey but worth it for a nice vegan meal! They also have a small grocerry shop area which includes frozen vegan goods (and they have a cute sustainable area with cutlery, takeaway cups, toilet rolls ). Only thing I’d say is parking sucks. Carpark is usually full and then street parking is usually full too - so keep that in mind while going (but that’s out of the businesses control). Doggos are allowed in the outside dining area which I love. When you get served everyone is very friendly - just sometimes is busy and you need to wait a little while (only feedback Id have would be for the girls to turn around and greet people as they come in and say they’ll be with them in a sec but that’s an incredibly minor comment). Their menu is amazing and they always have a cabinet of quick stuff you can take to go - vegan crossaints, salads, wraps, cakes and all that jazz! They also do cute bake sales to support Farm Animal Rescue which I think is amazing to see. Overall...
