Bay Pizza Lab — Restaurant in Byron Bay

I was recommended by a friend as I have recently become GF & DF. So I was extremely excited to try out this place. I booked for my partner and I to go for date night and he did the All You Can Eat for $25, the pizzas were absolutely delicious and what a great value.

I, however got a GF & DF Chicken Pizza with a side of DF garlic aioli. The pizza was okay, without the side dip it probably would have not been good at all. I was a bit disappointed considering the pizza was $39 + $4 for the dip. I understand that it's probably necessary to charge a bit extra for special dietary requirements but $9 for swapping to GF free base & DF free cheese and turns out to not even be tasty is a bit criminal.

Especially the DF cheese is just white gloops that doesn't even have a taste. And I've had some very yummy DF cheese before.

I will say though, the service is amazing! I enjoyed the vibe and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our date night and his pizza experience.

On the 9th of September my friends and I were very excited to dine at your restaurant to benefit from your attractive “all you can eat” meal deal. Whilst the food was reasonably good – especially given the current prices within the local area – our experience was sadly spoilt by a member of your team (male, long hair) who told us abruptly that we had overstayed our allocation (truthfully, we were running a couple of minutes beyond our allocated seating time), grabbed my phone, opened my personal bag, and threw it inside. I did not give him permission to touch my personal possessions, and I am confident other guests would find this behaviour wholly unacceptable. Gorgeous little spot. Grab yourself a seat by the window for some people watching and a lovely ocean breeze. The missus and I fancy ourselves as fairly knowledgable pizza connoisseurs, and we were absolutely blown away. The dough in particular is divine! I went for the chicken pizza and Kate got the sausage (no pun intended). If you don’t secure yourself a smoked cheese dip with your pizza here you are sorely missing out. Real gluttons like me know that having something with a bit of oomph to dip your crust in can take a pizza from a 9 to a 10.
