Read moreAn experience where just about every aspect was just "OK". The overall look to the place is dark and greasy, you have to be very careful on the slight slope towards the toilets as it's a slip hazard, I slipped and many people slid while we sat there. The toilet was unclean with no soap and nothing to dry your hands.
Booked a table for 6 people 5pm and it wasn't busy, took a long time after drink orders to flag someone down for the food order. They were kind enough to let someone in the the party have the sasparella in their spider not regular cans of drink but when it came to burger alterations it was a surcharge to put onions on my burger instead of the more expencive mushrooms that came on it. So food alterations is not what they will do, I was told by the waitress. The waitress brought a beer to the table we didn't order and refused, the kids meal was quite late and the last to come out when the rest of us had eaten most of our mains that were just average tasting, I had asked for tomato sauce for the chips that were overcooked instead of aioli but was brought aioli, I asked again for it and they didn't bring it. There was over 8 people waiting to pay with one inexperienced person on the till. It took such a long time as they do split bills dispite their sign saying they dont, she said she couldn't give me an itemized bill till after I had paid when I wanted to make sure that beer wasn't charged to us. So she had to read out the whole order which showed it had been charged and took a longer time to get someone to take it off the bill, but it was still on the receipt...

Initially service was great and always wanting to give staff and kitchen crew a chance, we waited a long time for sides (and also wanted to order another round of drinks). But when we were half way through our burgers we asked about the sides- they said they must have been missed. We cancelled the slaw but said, yes bring the chips, not expecting them to take 20mins. So when they arrived after we'd all finished our burgers some time ago, no one wanted them at that point.
Had someone come back just to check- we would have asked about the sides sooner and ordered more drinks.
Anyway, we went to pay for the bill, asked could the slaw be removed (as it never arrived) and actually asked would it be possible for the chips to come off the bill too as they just arrived so late. We totally understand mistakes happen, but the sulky reaction of the guy in the till was the cherry on top. All the other staff lovely, but the slam of the till and walking away without even speaking was very childish, it did make us laugh in all honesty, but has put me off returning or...
